Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

Identify and develop new business opportunities to grow the customer base.
Generate leads and establish contact with potential customers.
Open new, sustainable customer accounts and develop long-term business relationships.
Service existing customers and identify opportunities to increase sales.
Conduct client visits to assess customer requirements and promote products.
Achieve monthly sales turnover and gross profit targets.
Identify market trends, competitor activity, pricing movements and potential projects.
Participate in the company's sales incentive scheme based on gross profit achieved.

Customer Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
Provide customers with product information, technical advice and pricing guidance.
Assist with queries relating to product availability, stock and orders.
Deliver excellent customer service and ensure customer requirements are met.
Maintain accurate customer records and complete regular call reports.

Sales Administration & Coordination

Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports.
Check stock availability, prepare quotations and process sales orders using Syspro.
Expedite sales orders and follow up to ensure efficient service delivery.
Work closely with Internal Sales and Counter Sales teams to coordinate customer requirements.
Assist Counter Sales staff when required.
Resolve account queries and follow up on outstanding customer payments.
Maintain accurate reporting on customer activity, sales performance and market developments.

Minimum Requirements

3-5 years' experience selling steel and steel-related products.
Previous experience within a retail environment.
Syspro experience is essential.
Previous Sales Representative experience will be a strong advantage.
Proven ability to achieve sales turnover and gross profit targets.
Valid driver's licence.
Strong understanding of sales processes and business development.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
Energetic, proactive and results-driven approach to sales.
Excellent customer service skills and a professional attitude.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Must be based in the Western Cape, as relocation is not being considered.
