Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Technical IFRS Governance: Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement packs, ensuring strict adherence to statutory standards and applying complex technical accounting treatments (including IFRS 3 business combinations).
- Group Consolidations & Intercompany Controls: Assist with multi-entity group consolidations, manage intercompany reconciliations, and optimize divisional reporting workflows to ensure total ledger accuracy.
- Taxation & Statutory Compliance: Execute corporate Income Tax and VAT compliance schedules, prepare supporting statutory reconciliations, and manage auditor requirements across annual audit cycles.
- FP&A, Budgeting & Variance Analytics: Support multi-unit budgeting frameworks, rolling forecasts, and variance analysis models, translating operational trends into actionable strategic insights.
- Financial Controls & Systems Improvement: Perform complex balance sheet reconciliations, strengthen internal governance controls, and participate in continuous process improvement initiatives across reporting systems.
- Formal Education: A completed BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related commercial discipline.
- Professional Designation / Articles: Active CA(SA) designation, eligibility to register as a CA(SA), or candidates with completed SAICA/SAIPA articles and strong commercial experience will be highly regarded.
- Experience Track Record: 1 to 3 years of reference-backed post-articles commercial finance experience.
- Technical & Domain Expertise:
- Comprehensive understanding of IFRS technical accounting, group consolidations, income tax, VAT, balance sheet reconciliations, and FP&A models.
- Exposure to manufacturing, publishing, FMCG, or complex multi-entity commercial environments is highly advantageous.
- Prior exposure to multinational or publicly listed corporate group structures is beneficial.
- Systems & Digital Capabilities:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities are essential.
