Financial Accountant

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting function, including debtors, creditors, petty cash, banking and monthly reporting.
• Maintain the cash book and perform daily bank reconciliations.
• Manage the creditors function, including supplier payments and statement reconciliations.
• Oversee the debtors function, including collections and debtor account reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly debtors and creditors age analyses.
• Reconcile payroll information received from third-party payroll administrators to bank payments.
• Assist with the preparation and payment of EMP201 returns.
• Assist with VAT reconciliations, returns and payments.
• Perform monthly credit card reconciliations.
• Complete asset and liability reconciliations.
• Maintain the fixed asset sub-ledger and reconcile it to the general ledger.
• Reconcile client jobs and engage with the traffic team during the client charge-out process.
• Contribute to the preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Prepare audit schedules and assist with managing the external audit process.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of effective financial controls and processes.

Qualifications and Experience

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance would be advantageous.
• A minimum of five years’ relevant accounting experience is preferred.
• Strong practical knowledge of financial accounting, taxation and balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Experience managing debtors, creditors, cash books and bank reconciliations.
• Exposure to monthly management accounts and external audits.
• Previous experience within the media, advertising, marketing or a project-driven environment would be advantageous.
• Experience working with Deltek WorkBook would be highly advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
