Financial Controller (Expat Role)

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving financial governance, reporting, business performance, and strategic decision-making while supporting operations across complex African markets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the financial control and reporting function.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Monitor business performance and provide strategic financial insights.
• Develop and strengthen internal controls, policies, and governance frameworks.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury activities.
• Support commercial and operational leadership with financial decision-making.
• Oversee audit processes and ensure statutory compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, and business performance.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, or a related field.
• CA(SA), ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or similar professional qualification advantageous but not essential.
• Strong commercial acumen and business partnering experience will be highly valued.

Experience:

• Minimum 7-8 years' experience in Financial Control, Finance Management, Commercial Finance, or related leadership roles.
• Experience working within African markets.
• Previous exposure to West Africa, the DRC, or similar emerging market environments is highly advantageous.
• Experience managing finance functions across multiple jurisdictions would be beneficial.

Language Requirements:

• French fluency is non-negotiable.
• Strong English communication skills are essential.
