Busy Restaurant in Sandton is looking for a friendly; well-presented Hostess. This is a 4-month fixed-term contract ; with the opportunity to become permanent for the right person. This is an ideal role for a student or anyone after a short-term project! The hostess will manage the front door, welcome incoming guests ; and coordinate the flow of the dining room. Duties: Welcome guests warmly as they arrive, provides menus, and escorts them to their assigned tables. Take phone or digital bookings, checks in arriving parties, and updates reservation software or physical logs. Keep track of table turnover during busy hours, estimates honest wait times, and manages lobby crowds. Rotate seating evenly among waiters so no single server gets overwhelmed while others sit empty. Handle phone calls, provides information on restaurant hours or menus, and takes to-go or takeout orders. Keep the entrance area clean, resets or checks tables, and relays special requests (like highchairs or birthday celebrations) to the staff. Requirements: Warm; confident and reliable Able to stand for a full shift Dineplan experience is beneficial Hosting experience a plus, but we’ll train the right person Shifts: 5 days a week, 2 days off Mon-Fri: 11:30
