A client within the within the Motor Vechical Manufacturing industry is looking for a IT System Administrator (AX 2012 Specialist) to join their team in Boxsburg, GP.
As IT System Administrator (AX 2012 Specialist) your responsibilities will, among others, the setup, maintenance, and optimization of IT systems, with a primary focus on the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 environment, infrastructure security, and global project alignment.
Responsibilities:
1. AX 2012 Management
Administration: Manage and support Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 environments, including AOS instances, Analysis Services, security roles, and user permissions.
Optimization: Design, implement, and optimize ERP processes to support evolving business requirements.
Database Management: Maintain SQL Server health, including log file management, backup verification, job monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
EDI & Integration: Lead EDI onboarding projects, manage integrations, and maintain existing EDI functionality.
Environment Management: Manage the movement of code, configurations, and projects between AX development, testing, and production environments.
Consultant & Developer Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for external consultants and developers, supporting ERP customizations and maintaining effective external relationships.
2. Infrastructure & Modern IT Support
AX Infrastructure: Maintain and support server software and infrastructure associated with the AX 2012 environment.
Hybrid IT Support: Provide advanced support for server and network-related issues while assisting the Service Desk with end-user support when required.
ICT Documentation & Reviews: Maintain comprehensive documentation of ICT systems, configurations, processes, and access controls, and conduct regular system and access reviews.
User Training: Provide training and guidance to end-users on Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 functionality and processes.
Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery: Support IT disaster recovery initiatives, validate backup effectiveness, and assist with business continuity planning and testing.
3. Global Projects & IT Strategy
Global Alignment: Execute and manage IT projects and initiatives directed by Regional Headquarters (RHQ) and Global Headquarters (GHQ), working closely with the Network Administrator.
Change Management: Rigorously test, document, and validate system changes, initiate and maintain Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs), and monitor implementations through to completion.
- Microsoft Certification: Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (beneficial).
- Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012: Deep functional and technical knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012.
- Microsoft ERP: Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Fundamentals (ERP) or an equivalent Microsoft ERP certification.
- IT Service Management: ITIL 4 Foundation certification.
- Project Management: Agile Foundation certification or equivalent Agile methodology knowledge.
- Database & Scripting: Strong proficiency in SQL scripting, including the creation and maintenance of database views.
- Communication: Fluent in English, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to users, management, and other stakeholders.
- ICT Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience within an ICT environment, preferably with exposure to ERP, infrastructure, and systems administration.
- Driver’s Licence: Valid driver’s licence and willingness to use a company vehicle when required.
