Java Team Lead

Key Responsibilities

Technical Delivery

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise web and mobile applications.
• Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including analysis, solution design, estimation, development, testing, and deployment.
• Drive software quality through best practices, continuous integration, automation, and code reviews.
• Promote DevOps practices, including containerisation and automated deployment pipelines.
• Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to drive innovation and business value.
• Ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions are delivered successfully.

Team Leadership

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams.
• Mentor, coach, and support team members in their professional and technical growth.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Lead the implementation of development standards, best practices, and processes.
• Conduct regular performance discussions, feedback sessions, and career development conversations.
• Drive team engagement, motivation, and delivery excellence.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

• Build strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
• Understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Manage customer expectations and ensure successful project outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with security standards, governance requirements, and industry best practices.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years' experience as a Software Engineer within an enterprise environment.
• Previous experience leading or coordinating software delivery teams.
• Proven ability to mentor, coach, and develop technical talent.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, architecture, and best practices.
• Experience designing and structuring software solutions within enterprise environments.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong customer-facing and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple technologies and environments.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid environment, attending the office approximately 2-3 days per week.
