About the role The Legal Secretary supports attorneys by preparing legal documents, managing court filings, communicating with clients, organising case files, and assisting with legal billing and taxation matters.
Responsibilities:
- Drafting Legal documents: Court Pleadings & Notices, Formal letters to clients and Affidavits.
- Filing Court documents: Pleading Notices, preparing file for court, uploading documents on court online.
- Telephone & mail Correspondences: real-time talking with clients (answering & making calls), call handling, making appointments with doctors for third party clients.
- Drafting bill of costs: reviewing the file & court order, preparing bill, correlating with tariffs, listing disbursements, formatting the documents, serving & uploading taxation documents on court online, applying for taxation dates, following-up with expert’s invoices.
- South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
- Must not have participated on the YES programme before.
- Matric.
- Diploma or qualification in Legal Studies, Law, Paralegal Studies, or Legal Administration
