What you will be doing:
- Own and support the lifecycle, health, and continuous improvement of enterprise Kafka platforms.
- Administer and maintain Kafka environments, including Confluent Platform and/or Confluent Cloud.
- Design, implement, and optimise DevOps pipelines and infrastructure automation.
- Develop automation scripts using Python and Bash.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support platform deployments.
- Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform and/or Ansible.
- Monitor platform performance, availability, and reliability through proactive observability.
- Configure and maintain monitoring solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, or Azure Monitor.
- Implement and maintain Kafka security, including TLS/SSL, SASL, and ACL configurations.
- Troubleshoot Linux-based systems and resolve complex platform issues.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve platform resilience, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership and contribute to the continuous improvement of DevOps and platform engineering practices.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in Systems or Platform Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years' hands-on experience administering Kafka platforms.
- Experience with Confluent Platform and/or Confluent Cloud.
- Strong DevOps and automation experience.
- Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and/or Ansible.
- Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Cloud experience, preferably with Microsoft Azure.
- Strong understanding of Kafka security, including TLS/SSL, SASL, and ACLs.
- Experience implementing monitoring and observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, or Azure Monitor.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
