Check incoming food and beverage deliveries against purchase orders, verify quantities, and inspect items for quality or damage.
Update stock levels in point-of-sale (POS) and inventory management systems daily.
Conduct regular daily, weekly, or monthly physical stock counts and cycle counts.
Monitor spoilage, shrinkage, and preparation waste, reporting variances to management.
Forecast supply needs based on sales trends to prevent shortages or overstocking.
Requirements:
Grade 12
A formal qualification
At least 3+ years’ experience in stock control or receiving experience, preferably in hospitality, food service, or retail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and restaurant POS or inventory platforms (such as GAAP, Pilot, or specialized supply software).
Understanding of food safety principles, proper stock rotation (FIFO), and storage temperature guidelines.
Strong numerical accuracy, high integrity, and clear communication with kitchen and management teams.
