Structural Engineer

• Perform structural analysis, calculations and detailed design.
• Develop structural drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Provide structural engineering consulting and technical advice to clients.
• Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor structural works and ensure compliance with designs and specifications.
• Work closely with architects, contractors, developers and other engineering disciplines.
• Review construction drawings, designs and technical submissions.
• Identify and resolve structural and construction-related technical issues.
• Provide engineering solutions for complex structural requirements.
• Assist with project planning, coordination and delivery.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant South African standards, regulations and industry best practices.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation.
• Manage multiple projects and maintain project deadlines.
• Provide technical support throughout the construction phase.

The ideal candidate must have demonstrated experience working on:

• Luxury / high-end residential properties
• Elite residential developments
• Commercial buildings
• Complex structural projects from design through to construction.
• Client-facing consulting environments.
• Construction sites and site inspections.

• BEng / BSc Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from a recognised university.
• 5-10 years' relevant structural engineering experience.
• Strong structural design and engineering consulting experience.
• Proven experience with residential and commercial building projects.
• Experience working on high-end / luxury residential properties is essential.
• Comfortable conducting regular site visits and inspections.
• Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and relevant South African standards.
• Excellent technical report writing and documentation skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team.
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transport would be advantageous.
