System Analyst

PBT Group is looking for an experienced System Analyst to join a dynamic delivery team on a contract basis.

This role is ideal for an analytical and technically minded professional who enjoys bridging the gap between business requirements and technology solutions. You will work closely with business stakeholders, developers, architects and testers to analyse complex business problems, design robust system solutions, and produce high-quality technical documentation that enables successful solution delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Systems Analysis

• Engage with business stakeholders to understand, analyse and document business requirements.

• Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical solution designs.

• Facilitate workshops and requirements gathering sessions.

• Identify solution options and recommend the most appropriate approach.

• Ensure proposed solutions align with enterprise architecture and business objectives.

Solution Design

• Produce comprehensive functional and technical specifications.

• Develop UML artefacts including use case, sequence, activity and context diagrams.

• Design system integrations and interface specifications.

• Define API contracts and system interactions.

• Collaborate with Architects and Development teams to ensure solution feasibility.

Integration Analysis

• Analyse and document system integrations across multiple platforms.

• Work with RESTful and SOAP-based services.

• Define message structures using JSON and XML.

• Analyse queue-based and batch processing solutions.

• Support API integration design and troubleshooting.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work closely with Developers, Test Analysts, Product Owners and Business Analysts throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.

• Support solution clarification during development and testing.

• Assist with defect analysis and production support where required.

• Ensure solution documentation remains accurate and up to date.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a System Analyst or Technical Business Analyst.

• Proven experience producing detailed functional and technical documentation.

• Strong understanding of enterprise systems and system integration.

• Experience working within Agile and/or Waterfall delivery environments.

• Banking or Financial Services experience is highly advantageous.
