Technical Sales Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to drive new business development and deliver technical sales solutions across industrial markets. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, proven solution-selling experience and the ability to build relationships with clients across multiple industries.

This role is suited to a commercially driven professional who can identify opportunities, understand technical requirements and secure complex equipment and plant-related sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within industrial markets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
• Promote and sell technical solutions, industrial equipment and plant-related systems.
• Understand client requirements and recommend suitable technical solutions.
• Prepare quotations, proposals and technical sales presentations.
• Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and client engagement through to negotiation and closing.
• Work closely with internal technical and engineering teams to develop tailored solutions.
• Achieve sales targets and contribute to business growth.
• Conduct client visits, site assessments and technical consultations.
• Travel regularly to meet clients and identify new opportunities.

Minimum Requirements

• Engineering qualification: BEng, BTech or National Diploma in Mechanical, Chemical, Process, Civil or Water Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in technical or solution-based sales within industrial capital equipment.
• Proven track record of securing multi-item equipment or plant-related orders.
• Experience selling into at least one of the following industries:
• Mining
• Food and beverage
• Industrial manufacturing
• Oil and gas
• Strong business development, negotiation and closing skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation and relationship management abilities.
• A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel approximately 40-60% of the time.
