Core Criteria:
- Grade 12
- 1 - 2 years’ experience as a wine tutor preferred
- In-depth wine knowledge, with the ability to explain it clearly and engagingly to guests
- Own or reliable transport
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- Confident engaging with high-end, distinguished clientele
- Well-presented, with an enthusiastic personality
- Genuine passion for wine and the hospitality industry
- Flexible with working hours and able to perform under pressure
- Set up the tasting area ahead of service
- Present tutored wine tastings to guests
- Ensure the presentation, quality and serving temperature of all drinks meet standard
- Process wine orders through the relevant ordering and logistics platforms
- Maintain adequate stock and equipment levels, including collections and restocking
- Minimise losses from breakage, waste, theft and incorrect orders, and record any that occur
- Apply strict tasting and portion control
- Complete daily wine and beverage stock-takes and stock movement sheets
- Promote wines and process sales
- Comply with the Liquor Act (No. 59 of 2003) and all other regulations governing the sale of alcohol
