This role serves as a key connection point between financial intelligence, data, and product teams.
You will monitor squad-level costs and product P&L while helping translate financial data into actionable business decisions.
The position involves modeling the financial impact of product initiatives, changes in business rules, and new launches.
You will build forecasts, projections, and performance indicators to give teams greater visibility into revenue, costs, and margins.
A strong analytical focus is required to reconcile information across different data sources and ensure numerical consistency.
You will work closely with product and engineering squads while presenting insights clearly to stakeholders and decision-makers.
The role offers the opportunity to influence business priorities through rigorous financial analysis and data-driven recommendations.
Accountabilities:
- Monitor expenses by product squad, including suppliers, technology costs, allocations, cross-charges, and payroll.
- Manage and analyze product P&L, with particular focus on balance and yield-related products, including floating, yield costs, spread, and margin.
- Conduct financial impact studies in partnership with product teams to assess new features, business-rule changes, and product launches.
- Build financial models that support business decisions, strategic planning, and prioritization of product initiatives.
- Develop and maintain forecasts and projections for revenue, costs, and margins, ensuring relevant stakeholders have clear visibility into expected performance.
- Define and monitor squad KPIs, establishing clear measurement frequencies and recurring performance-review rituals.
- Present financial and operational metrics to product squads and stakeholders, translating complex data into clear narratives and actionable decisions.
- Monitor regulatory data to ensure information is accurate, consistent, and delivered within required timelines.
- Extract, query, and manipulate data using SQL in data-lake environments such as Databricks.
- Reconcile information across different databases and sources, investigating discrepancies and identifying the underlying causes of inconsistencies.
- Solid professional experience in business analysis, corporate finance, controlling, or related analytical functions.
- Intermediate to advanced SQL skills, including experience writing queries in data-lake environments such as Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar platforms.
- Proven experience with financial modeling and the development of forecasts and projections.
- Familiarity with product P&L and financial performance concepts, including revenue, costs, margins, and profitability.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including financial modeling, dashboards, and sensitivity analysis.
- Strong ability to reconcile data from different sources, identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and validate the consistency of financial information.
- Experience presenting insights to executives and translating complex data into clear narratives tailored to different audiences.
- Experience in fintech or financial institutions is desirable.
- Knowledge of balance, investment, or payment products is a plus.
- Experience with Databricks or modern analytics tools such as dbt, Looker, or Tableau is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Agile rituals and collaboration with product or engineering squads is desirable.
- Basic knowledge of Python or automation tools for improving operational efficiency is a plus.
