Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Assistant General Counsel based in United States.

This role offers an opportunity to help shape legal and compliance strategy within a rapidly growing molecular diagnostics and precision medicine organization. The Assistant General Counsel will join a lean legal team and provide practical guidance across commercial, product, regulatory, corporate, and operational matters. You’ll work closely with leaders across Finance, Sales, Market Access, Reimbursement, R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain, and HR. The position combines independent legal judgment with hands-on development of policies, processes, and compliance infrastructure. You’ll proactively identify emerging risks, advise on strategic initiatives, and help the organization navigate complex and evolving requirements. This is a high-impact opportunity for a versatile attorney who enjoys ambiguity, collaboration, and building scalable legal programs in an innovative healthcare environment.

Accountabilities:

    • Proactively identify, assess, and address legal and compliance risks across Product, Marketing, Commercial Operations, Market Access, Reimbursement, R&D, People Operations, and Finance.
    • Anticipate legal and regulatory issues and provide practical guidance before risks become business challenges.
    • Identify gaps in existing policies, procedures, and processes and lead initiatives to strengthen the organization’s compliance infrastructure.
    • Develop and implement processes designed to meet applicable legal and regulatory requirements, working closely with internal stakeholders.
    • Draft policies, standard operating procedures, and related materials, while overseeing implementation, communication, and employee training.
    • Draft, review, negotiate, interpret, and manage strategic and high-value commercial agreements.
    • Independently take ownership of legal questions in unfamiliar areas by researching issues, gathering business context, evaluating risks, and driving matters toward resolution.
    • Partner with other members of the legal team to build and scale legal and compliance programs supporting laboratory services and life sciences operations.
    • Advise commercial leaders and cross-functional stakeholders on business strategies, product promotion, sales programs, transactions, and other commercial initiatives.
    • Communicate practical legal solutions to leadership and colleagues while balancing business objectives with appropriate risk mitigation.
    • Contribute wherever needed within a lean legal organization, demonstrating a hands-on approach and strong ownership of assigned matters.
    • Requirements:

      • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
      • 5+ years of legal experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department, ideally with experience in life sciences or healthcare.
      • Demonstrated ability to independently handle unfamiliar legal issues and drive complex projects to completion with limited oversight.
      • Strong commercial legal experience advising business leaders on strategy, product promotion, sales programs, transactions, and related initiatives.
      • Experience developing compliance processes, drafting and implementing policies and procedures, and delivering employee training.
      • Exposure to several relevant legal areas, such as commercial compliance, securities and corporate governance, contract drafting and negotiation, intellectual property, and labor and employment.
      • Strong ability to operate with autonomy and sound judgment in ambiguous, fast-moving environments without relying on established playbooks.
      • Highly resourceful, adaptable, creative, and comfortable learning new areas of law and business.
      • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to explain complex legal considerations clearly to executives and cross-functional teams.
      • Strong collaborative mindset and willingness to take a hands-on approach in a growing legal organization.
      • Experience working in a startup or high-growth company is a plus.
      • Familiarity with molecular diagnostics, genetics, clinical laboratories, or other life sciences environments is a plus.
      • Benefits:

        • Total compensation package of up to $383,156 USD per year.
        • Base salary range of $241,165-$267,962 USD per year.
        • Compensation may vary based on experience and the candidate’s preferred salary/equity mix.
        • Generous equity options offering.
        • Corporate bonus program.
        • Multiple medical benefit options, with employee premiums fully covered for select plans and dependent coverage of up to 80%.
        • Supplemental fertility benefits.
        • 401(k) retirement savings program with a 4% company match.
        • 16 weeks of fully paid family bonding leave for eligible employees.
        • Paid time off that increases with tenure.
        • Remote, hybrid, or onsite work options, with occasional travel as needed.
        • Access to modern hardware, laboratory equipment, and facilities.
        • Open and transparent culture with regular company-wide town halls.
        • Opportunity to contribute to healthcare innovations that can positively impact hundreds of thousands of patients.
        • Onsite lunches at select locations.
        • Campus amenities including a state-of-the-art gym and restaurant.
        • Free onsite EV charging at applicable locations.
