Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Director, Retailer Partnerships & Growth based in the United States.

This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role focused on advancing retailer partnerships and accelerating commercial growth.

You’ll help translate market intelligence, retailer needs, and strategic priorities into actionable initiatives.

The role owns relationships with a defined portfolio of priority retailers and drives engagement with senior stakeholders.

You’ll lead complex workstreams from problem definition through execution while coordinating cross-functional teams.

A key focus will be identifying new retail opportunities, developing tailored engagement strategies, and expanding existing relationships.

You’ll operate in a dynamic, collaborative environment where ambiguity, influence, and strong execution are essential.

The position offers an opportunity to shape U.S. retail strategy while delivering measurable client and business outcomes.

Accountabilities:

    • Partner with senior leadership to advance the U.S. retailer strategy and translate strategic priorities into structured execution plans.
    • Own the strategy, relationship development, and execution roadmap for a portfolio of priority retailers, ensuring insights translate into meaningful retailer value.
    • Build trusted relationships with senior retailer stakeholders and lead strategic conversations that influence priorities, decisions, and actions.
    • Analyze retail channels, emerging commerce models, market developments, and structural shifts to identify strategic opportunities and capability needs.
    • Lead complex strategic workstreams from problem definition through implementation, synthesizing retailer feedback, market intelligence, and internal perspectives into actionable recommendations.
    • Drive growth across assigned retailer relationships by identifying and qualifying opportunities, developing retailer-specific engagement strategies, and advancing initiatives from concept through proposal, pilot, conversion, and expansion.
    • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to maintain alignment, clear ownership, momentum, and high-quality execution.
    • Build repeatable tools and processes that improve retailer prioritization, strategic initiative management, organizational learning, and progress measurement.
    • Support broader business-growth initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement of partnership and commercial approaches.
    • Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
      • Typically 8+ years of significant experience in retail, strategy, consulting, insights, client leadership, or a related field, with a demonstrated record of independently leading complex strategic initiatives.
      • Direct experience working with U.S. retailers is strongly preferred, with an understanding of retailer business models, commercial priorities, supplier dynamics, and market trends.
      • Experience translating research, data, market intelligence, or client insights into clear business recommendations and actionable strategies.
      • Proven ability to manage complex workstreams, develop execution roadmaps, establish priorities, and drive initiatives through implementation.
      • Strong executive communication, presentation, networking, and client-interfacing skills, with the confidence to facilitate senior-level discussions and influence decisions.
      • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to synthesize multiple information sources and navigate ambiguous business challenges.
      • Strong cross-functional leadership skills, with the ability to build alignment, influence stakeholders, and coordinate execution across teams.
      • Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to test new approaches, challenge inefficient processes, and develop scalable solutions.
      • High level of ownership, accountability, adaptability, and commitment to measurable client and business outcomes.
      • Benefits:

        • Fully remote position based in the United States.
        • Opportunity to shape retailer strategy and contribute to meaningful commercial growth.
        • Exposure to senior leaders, strategic clients, and cross-functional global teams.
        • Collaborative, agile environment that values curiosity, innovation, clarity, and impact.
        • Meaningful professional development and opportunities for career growth.
        • Competitive rewards and benefits package.
        • Opportunity to work in a global organization operating across more than 40 markets.
