Automation & Performance Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Automation & Performance Engineer based in Brazil.

This is a full-time engineering opportunity focused on strengthening the quality, reliability, and performance of AI-driven platforms preparing for enterprise production environments. You will work across two parallel workstreams, combining advanced test automation with performance and load engineering. A key part of the role is turning adversarial and functional test suites into repeatable, automated CI workflows. You will also design and execute performance tests for high-traffic request paths where latency and throughput are critical. The role requires strong engineering judgment, rigorous testing methodology, and the ability to turn performance data into actionable findings. You will collaborate across software and engineering teams in an environment where security, correctness, and financial integrity are essential. Accountabilities:

• Build, maintain, and continuously improve automated functional and adversarial test suites, integrating them into CI workflows and quality gates.
• Design and execute performance and load-testing strategies to measure latency, throughput, scalability, and reliability across critical services.
• Develop load tests for high-traffic application paths, identifying potential bottlenecks before they affect production workloads.
• Build robust test harnesses and data generators that comply with platform-specific identity, account, access, and transaction rules.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to create fast, repeatable, and meaningful validation cycles.
• Analyze performance results and identify system constraints, bottlenecks, regressions, and scalability risks using evidence-based methodologies.
• Document findings clearly, including metrics, reproduction steps, test conditions, and recommendations for remediation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to improve test coverage, performance methodology, and overall software delivery quality.

Requirements:

• Strong professional experience in test automation, with solid Python skills; JavaScript or TypeScript experience is valuable.
• Hands-on experience designing and executing performance and load tests using tools such as k6, Locust, JMeter, Gatling, or comparable technologies.
• Strong understanding of performance-testing methodology, including the analysis of latency, throughput, bottlenecks, scalability, and system behavior under load.
• Experience with CI/CD environments, particularly GitHub Actions or equivalent platforms, and practical knowledge of Docker.
• Ability to reason effectively about services operating directly within request paths, where latency and throughput can have a significant impact on user experience and system reliability.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a disciplined approach to test design, measurement, and interpretation of results.
• Excellent written English and the ability to communicate technical findings clearly through evidence-based reports.
• Experience with payment, financial, or transactional systems is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with platforms such as Render, Vercel, and Supabase is considered a plus.
• Background in observability, system profiling, or performance diagnostics is also desirable.
