Profile match
Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Claim Professional II based in the United States.

As a Claim Professional II, you will manage liability insurance claims from initial investigation through resolution and closure.

You will assess coverage, liability, damages, and exposure while developing practical strategies for complex claims.

The role involves coordinating litigation, defense counsel, experts, mediations, and other external partners when required.

You will work closely with insureds, claimants, clients, legal professionals, and internal stakeholders to deliver timely and effective outcomes.

Strong analytical and communication skills will be essential when preparing evaluations, coverage determinations, reports, and leadership updates.

This fully remote opportunity offers the chance to work within a high-performing national team while handling meaningful and challenging claims.

The position is well suited to an experienced claims professional who combines sound judgment, customer focus, and strong case-management capabilities.

Accountabilities

    • Investigate and evaluate insurance claims, analyzing liability, damages, coverage, and overall exposure to determine appropriate courses of action.
    • Develop and execute claim resolution strategies, including risk transfer, mediation, litigation management, negotiation, and proactive claim handling.
    • Analyze policy language and coverage obligations and prepare written coverage determinations, partnering with coverage counsel when appropriate.
    • Establish and manage timely and accurate reserves based on coverage, liability, damages, and anticipated claim exposure.
    • Coordinate litigation by selecting and managing defense counsel and experts, reviewing pleadings and litigation plans, and monitoring budgets and invoices.
    • Maintain complete and accurate electronic claim files, documenting contacts, communications, transactions, evaluations, and other relevant activity.
    • Deliver exceptional service by communicating professionally with insureds, claimants, clients, business partners, counsel, and other stakeholders.
    • Provide timely responses, updates, and requested information throughout the life of each claim.
    • Drive claims toward resolution and closure by collaborating with internal and external partners and taking ownership of agreed resolution strategies.
    • Identify significant risks and losses, keep leadership informed of developing exposures, and prepare loss summaries and other management reports.
    • Prepare and present claim evaluations, status updates, and recommendations to leadership and designated clients or stakeholders.
    • Maintain current subject matter expertise and ensure claim handling complies with applicable state and local regulatory requirements.
    • Prepare clear, accurate, and well-written reports for management, clients, and other designated recipients.
    • Participate in mediations, court proceedings, and other claim-related activities as needed, with occasional travel where required.
    • Requirements

      • At least 2 years of professional experience handling insurance claims, with strong knowledge of claims management and coverage practices.
      • Experience with cyber exposures and/or general liability claims is preferred.
      • Undergraduate degree or paralegal certificate required.
      • Independent adjuster licenses are required.
      • Strong understanding of coverage analysis, liability assessment, damages evaluation, reserves, litigation, and claim resolution strategies.
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and make sound decisions independently.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly for preparing reports, coverage determinations, claim evaluations, and leadership presentations.
      • Strong organizational and case-management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple claims, deadlines, stakeholders, and priorities.
      • Professional, customer-focused approach when interacting with insureds, claimants, clients, legal professionals, and business partners.
      • Ability to exercise sound judgment, identify significant risks, and proactively move claims toward appropriate resolution.
      • Willingness to participate in mediations, court proceedings, and occasional travel as required.
      • Benefits

        • Annual salary range of $70,000-$90,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
        • Eligibility for a bonus program.
        • Paid time off.
        • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
        • 401(k) retirement program with employer matching.
