Delivery Lead - AI-Enabled Products

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Delivery Lead - AI-Enabled Products based in South Africa.

This is a hands-on delivery leadership role focused on taking client-facing products and AI-enabled services from concept through reliable day-to-day operation.

You will own major initiatives end to end, turning ambiguous briefs into structured plans and driving execution across Product, Engineering, Design, Support, and clients.

A key focus will be ensuring AI-enabled workflows perform reliably in production, with appropriate monitoring, quality checks, and human review processes.

You will investigate issues independently, make informed delivery decisions, manage risks and dependencies, and escalate well-defined problems when engineering support is required.

The role combines client management, product operations, technical problem-solving, people leadership, and continuous improvement.

You will also guide junior team members and create playbooks, automation, and processes that make future delivery cycles more efficient.

Accountabilities:

• Take products and initiatives from ambiguous initial briefs through configuration, onboarding, testing, rollout, adoption, and reliable ongoing operation.
• Translate complex or unclear requests into actionable delivery plans with clear owners, dependencies, risks, milestones, and definitions of done.
• Drive execution directly by briefing stakeholders, following up on actions, removing blockers, managing priorities, and making timely delivery decisions.
• Own AI-enabled services after launch, developing a strong understanding of prompts, inputs, outputs, dependencies, failure modes, and human review processes.
• Establish and maintain quality checks that identify weak AI outputs, operational issues, and performance drift before they affect clients.
• Investigate problems independently by reproducing issues, reviewing configurations and expected behavior, assessing impact, and determining appropriate next steps before escalating.
• Provide Engineering with clearly framed technical problems, relevant evidence, context, and expected outcomes rather than simply forwarding client issues.
• Maintain strong client relationships through transparent communication around progress, risks, uncertainty, constraints, and delivery expectations.
• Convert lessons learned during implementation and operations into actionable requirements for Product and Engineering teams.
• Lead and develop junior team members by providing context, clear standards, direct feedback, and progressively greater ownership.
• Use AI tools for investigation, analysis, documentation, quality assurance, reporting, and other delivery activities while remaining accountable for validating their outputs.
• Create reusable playbooks, checklists, automation, and operating processes that improve quality and efficiency over time.
• Balance client impact, quality, cost, speed, and operational reliability when making delivery decisions.
• Contribute to a culture of ownership, direct communication, continuous improvement, and high-quality execution.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in implementation, product operations, technical account management, client delivery, or a comparable function where you have personally taken initiatives from ambiguity to measurable outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to own delivery rather than simply coordinate the work of others or track activities in project-management tools.
• Strong judgment and decision-making skills when requirements, information, or priorities are incomplete or evolving.
• Ability to identify and evaluate relevant evidence, balance client impact against quality, cost, and speed, and adjust decisions when new information becomes available.
• Technical understanding sufficient to reason confidently about APIs, SDKs, integrations, configuration, data, and product environments without needing to be a software engineer.
• Practical understanding of AI-enabled workflows in production, including prompts, inputs, outputs, failure modes, dependencies, monitoring, and human review.
• Ability to lead people, establish clear standards, provide constructive feedback, and distinguish meaningful results from simple activity.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to identify missing ownership, weak evidence, dependencies, and work that is not yet ready.
• Comfortable operating proactively without waiting for perfect briefs, instructions, or meeting invitations.
• Strong client-facing communication skills and the ability to explain technical or operational trade-offs clearly without hiding behind technical complexity.
• High attention to detail while maintaining pace in a fast-moving environment.
• Experience operating an AI workflow, automation, or platform after launch, including quality, monitoring, cost, or support, is advantageous.
• Experience implementing SaaS or developer-facing products such as APIs, SDKs, CMS platforms, UAT processes, or analytics solutions is beneficial.
• Background in sports, media, live events, advertising technology, or related industries is a plus.
• Previous experience working in a remote startup or scale-up environment where processes and operating models were still being established is advantageous.
