As a Deputy Chief of Staff - Research & Growth, you’ll serve as a strategic partner to a founder across multiple concurrent client engagements. You’ll bring structure, prioritization, and rigorous research to a fast-moving, multi-account environment. The role combines market intelligence, competitive research, business development, sales support, project management, and executive-level synthesis. You’ll turn fragmented information into clear insights, actionable recommendations, and polished materials that directly influence client and business outcomes. With significant autonomy, you’ll manage competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of accuracy, sourcing, and communication. Accountabilities:
- Serve as a strategic partner to the founder across multiple concurrent client engagements, providing structure, prioritization, organization, and consistent follow-through.
- Lead market and competitive intelligence research, including vendor ecosystem mapping, competitor analysis, market comparisons, and other strategic research initiatives.
- Conduct thorough multi-source research with transparent sourcing and full citations, ensuring findings are accurate, credible, and executive-ready.
- Synthesize research into clear patterns, trends, strategic insights, and actionable recommendations that leadership can use to make informed decisions.
- Drive pipeline-building initiatives by identifying executive and decision-maker contacts through LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, or comparable research tools.
- Draft personalized, research-backed outreach and cold emails that support business development and relationship-building efforts.
- Prepare sales and discovery materials by anticipating client questions, researching relevant public intelligence, and identifying strategic positioning opportunities.
- Build and manage detailed project plans and Gantt charts covering phases, milestones, dependencies, timelines, risks, and KPIs using Monday.com or comparable project-management tools.
- Produce polished competitive teardowns and comparison materials covering positioning, differentiators, target verticals, UX walkthroughs, and comparison tables for executive and client-facing use.
- Maintain organization and continuity across unrelated client accounts and industries, adapting research depth, communication style, and priorities while maintaining consistent quality.
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy, proactively identifying priorities, solving problems, and ensuring deliverables remain on track.
- 3+ years of experience in a Chief of Staff, strategic research, competitive intelligence, senior business analysis, or senior sales analysis role, ideally supporting a founder, executive, or multi-client portfolio.
- Strong business English writing skills, with the ability to independently produce structured, citation-backed, executive-ready reports and recommendations.
- Demonstrated experience sourcing executive and decision-maker contacts through LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, or equivalent tools.
- Experience drafting personalized outreach and cold emails as part of research, sales, or business development initiatives.
- Working knowledge of Monday.com or a comparable project-management platform such as Asana or Smartsheet, including Gantt charts and KPI dashboards.
- Proven ability to conduct multi-source research with rigorous verification, transparent sourcing, and accurate citation practices.
- Strong analytical judgment and discernment, with the ability to distinguish meaningful insights from low-value information.
- High tenacity and ownership, with the ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and deliver results with minimal oversight.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to context-switch effectively across multiple unrelated client accounts and industries.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly when working with senior stakeholders and translating complex research into practical recommendations.
- Previous exposure to legal tech, Insurtech, investigations, or litigation consulting is a plus.
- Familiarity with luxury travel, ground transportation, or corporate meetings and events is a plus.
- Experience directly supporting sales or business development teams, including SDR/BDR-adjacent research, is a plus.
- Compensation of up to $1,800, depending on experience.
- 13th month pay.
- Performance-based bonuses of up to 150% of one month’s salary.
