Profile match
Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Experienced Energy Consultant based in the United States.

This remote consulting role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering, energy markets, infrastructure, and project finance.

You’ll analyze complex power projects and transform technical information into practical conclusions that support high-stakes investment and development decisions.

Your work will contribute to utility-scale solar, wind, battery storage, thermal generation, transmission, and other energy infrastructure initiatives.

You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams serving developers, utilities, grid operators, investors, research organizations, and government agencies.

The role combines technical analysis, economic modeling, planning studies, and business-case development with meaningful client impact.

You’ll also have opportunities to improve engineering workflows through automation, data-driven tools, and responsible applications of AI.

This is an ideal environment for an analytical, collaborative consultant who wants to help shape the evolving U.S. and global energy landscape.

Accountabilities

    • Analyze power generation and infrastructure projects and distill complex technical information into actionable conclusions and recommendations for project stakeholders.
    • Advise developers on utility-scale solar, wind, battery energy storage, thermal generation, and other energy projects from development through financing and implementation.
    • Independently evaluate new power and infrastructure projects to support investment and financing decisions.
    • Develop economic, technical, and market scenarios for grid operators, utilities, research organizations, and other energy-sector stakeholders.
    • Prepare planning studies, business cases, technical analyses, and client-ready recommendations for utilities, power producers, and government agencies.
    • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and consulting teams, contributing technical expertise while supporting project planning and execution.
    • Apply data analysis, visualization, and quantitative methods to evaluate project performance, market conditions, costs, and potential outcomes.
    • Help guide the adoption of automation and modern tools, including AI and agentic AI, to improve engineering workflows, reduce rework, and increase delivery efficiency.
    • Support or oversee the use of tools such as Python, MATLAB, or advanced Excel for engineering automation, ensuring that automated outputs are appropriately reviewed and validated.
    • Communicate findings through clear technical reports, presentations, and recommendations tailored to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Requirements

      • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil/Structural Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline.
      • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in engineering, energy, infrastructure, consulting, or a related field.
      • A master’s degree in engineering, business, or a related discipline such as an MBA is a plus.
      • Experience with power generation or transmission projects is valued, though not mandatory.
      • Strong technical report-writing and documentation skills, with the ability to turn complex analysis into clear and useful conclusions.
      • Experience with data analysis and visualization, project finance, business analysis, conceptual project design, or construction project management is advantageous.
      • Familiarity with project scheduling or construction management software is beneficial.
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with confidence working with multidisciplinary teams and guiding colleagues.
      • Excellent project planning, organizational, leadership, decision-making, and judgment skills.
      • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and contribute effectively in a project-based consulting environment.
      • Interest in or experience with automation, AI, data science, Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel, computer science, or software engineering is valued.
      • Ability to work legally in the United States; sponsorship for U.S. work authorization is not provided.
      • Benefits

        • Remote/virtual work arrangement, with candidates able to work from anywhere in the United States.
        • Competitive salary range of $84,762-$129,498, with eligible employees potentially participating in a discretionary annual bonus.
        • Medical, dental, and vision health plans.
        • Life and accident insurance and disability coverage.
        • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and backup daycare support.
        • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) options.
        • 401(k) retirement plan.
        • Pre-tax commuter account.
        • Paid personal/sick time, vacation, holidays, parental leave, and bereavement leave.
        • Flexible work arrangements supporting work-life balance.
        • Tuition assistance and merit scholarship opportunities.
        • First professional licensure bonus and employee referral bonus.
        • Employee discount programs and corporate charitable giving opportunities.
        • Opportunities to develop expertise in energy consulting, engineering, automation, AI, and emerging energy technologies.
