This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Financial Services Appointment Setter based in Canada.
This remote, part-time opportunity is designed for an experienced appointment setter supporting a financial planning practice serving U.S.-based consumers. You will conduct professional outbound calls, engage prospects using approved scripts, and identify individuals interested in reviewing their retirement accounts. The role focuses on generating qualified appointments rather than providing financial advice or closing sales. You will manage calling activity, handle basic objections, document outcomes, and schedule consultations through Calendly. Success requires confidence on the phone, strong spoken English, persistence, and the ability to maintain a natural conversational approach. The position offers a focused schedule with the potential to increase contracted hours based on performance.
Accountabilities:
- Conduct outbound calls to prospects using client-provided contact lists and approved calling systems.
- Follow financial-services scripts while maintaining a professional, natural, and conversational communication style.
- Ask prospects about when they last reviewed their retirement accounts and communicate approved reasons for a potential financial review.
- Generate interest and identify prospects who are appropriate for a consultation with a financial professional.
- Handle basic objections confidently, professionally, and without being overly aggressive.
- Schedule qualified prospects for Zoom consultations using Calendly and available appointment slots.
- Record call outcomes, prospect information, and follow-up details accurately in Excel or Google Sheets.
- Maintain consistent calling activity throughout assigned two-hour calling blocks.
- Follow agreed service requirements, timelines, procedures, and deliverables under the applicable contractor engagement.
- Previous cold-calling experience is required, with demonstrated experience in appointment setting.
- Experience using power dialer systems is required; familiarity with 2X systems is an advantage, with training available.
- Experience in financial services, insurance, mortgage, banking, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong spoken English with a native or near-native level of fluency and clear, professional communication.
- Ability to work effectively from scripts while keeping conversations engaging and natural.
- Confident and professional telephone presence with strong interpersonal and listening skills.
- Comfortable speaking with U.S.-based consumers and adapting communication to different prospects.
- Strong objection-handling skills and the ability to remain persistent without being aggressive.
- Reliable, organised, performance-driven, and able to maintain consistent activity independently.
- Working knowledge of Calendly and Excel or Google Sheets.
- Comfortable working remotely and maintaining productivity during defined calling periods.
- Competitive contractor rates with weekly payments.
- Part-time schedule of approximately 10 hours per week.
- Monday-to-Friday schedule with consistent two-hour daily calling blocks between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM PST.
- Potential to increase contracted hours based on performance during the first month.
- Free training and opportunities for upskilling.
- Ongoing support and guidance throughout the engagement.
- Access to a supportive professional community.
- Opportunity to work remotely with international clients and gain experience supporting financial services operations.
- Independent contractor arrangement with defined scopes of work and agreed deliverables.
