Market Data Ops Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Market Data Ops Analyst based in India.

This is a fully remote opportunity supporting financial institutions through reliable, high-quality market data operations.

You will monitor market data generation, deliveries, feeds, and batch processes across multiple client environments.

The role combines technical troubleshooting, data analysis, incident management, and client-facing operational support.

You will help maintain SLA compliance while identifying opportunities to automate and improve recurring operational processes.

The position also offers exposure to financial markets, derivatives, cloud technologies, APIs, and data management platforms.

You will collaborate closely with clients, vendors, developers, and internal technical teams to resolve complex issues.

Success in this role requires analytical thinking, strong communication, operational discipline, and a continuous-improvement mindset.

Accountabilities

• Define, implement, and execute standard operating procedures for market data operations, ensuring consistent and reliable processes across client environments.
• Monitor and validate daily market data deliveries, including intraday and end-of-day snapshots, batch processes, scheduled runs, and data feeds, ensuring operational integrity and SLA compliance.
• Investigate market data quality, availability, and technical issues, performing triage and resolution while escalating complex problems to developers, vendors, or relevant stakeholders.
• Respond to operational requests from clients and internal teams, providing timely support for market data queries and issues.
• Use Python, Excel, SQL, and other tools to perform ad-hoc data analysis, investigate discrepancies, and improve operational workflows.
• Identify opportunities to optimize and automate manual checks and recurring processes, contributing to greater efficiency and reliability.
• Engage with external market data vendors to investigate availability, delivery, and quality-related issues and coordinate appropriate resolutions.
• Coordinate platform releases and production patch deployments with clients, supporting development teams with parallel runs, testing, and validation activities.
• Act as Incident Manager for market data incidents, coordinating resolution activities, leading post-mortems and root-cause analyses, and driving preventive improvements.
• Support clients with market-data-related questions and issues involving APIs and data management platforms.
• Collaborate with engineering, professional services, client-facing, and other internal teams to maintain operational excellence and a high level of client satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field from a recognized university, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience using Python for ad-hoc data analysis, troubleshooting, and automation of manual operational processes.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with practical SQL experience considered an advantage.
• Understanding of financial markets and exchange-traded and OTC derivatives, including forwards, futures, and options across asset classes such as interest rates, commodities, credit, equities, and foreign exchange.
• Familiarity with financial concepts such as volatility and beta is advantageous.
• Working knowledge of cloud services, particularly AWS technologies such as Step Functions, Lambda, EC2, and DynamoDB, is a plus.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to investigate data and technical issues systematically and identify root causes.
• Excellent English communication skills and confidence working with clients, vendors, developers, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining strong operational discipline and responsiveness.
• Willingness to work the required US shift when needed, approximately 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM MST.
• Experience working with multiple financial asset classes and the ability to combine Excel, Python, and SQL for market data investigation are valuable differentiators.
• Authorization to work in India is required.
