Accountabilities
- Support clients throughout their transition from traditional accounting systems to modern cloud-based accounting solutions.
- Research, evaluate, test, and implement accounting technology solutions based on each client’s operational and financial requirements.
- Integrate receipt management applications, e-commerce platforms, inventory management systems, and other business tools with cloud accounting platforms.
- Design accounting systems and workflows that improve efficiency, accuracy, automation, and visibility for clients.
- Train internal and external stakeholders on accounting system configurations, processes, workflows, and best practices.
- Spend significant time delivering client and team training in a clear, engaging, patient, and professional manner.
- Build and maintain internal and external processes, procedures, and documentation related to cloud accounting implementations.
- Provide ongoing support to clients and internal teams during the onboarding process, troubleshooting accounting systems, integrations, and workflow issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing workflows through automation, new technologies, and more efficient processes.
- Manage multiple client implementations and priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy, organization, and service.
- Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve onboarding practices, technology solutions, and the overall client experience.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and contribute ideas that can improve both operational efficiency and team performance.
- At least 5 years of bookkeeping experience, ideally gained in a fast-paced accounting or professional services environment.
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting and core bookkeeping principles, including payroll, debits and credits, clearing accounts, bank reconciliations, invoicing, accounts payable, and tax rates.
- Strong understanding of how accounting systems operate and how financial workflows connect across different business processes.
- Practical experience with Xero and QuickBooks Online (QBO).
- Experience with accounting technology and applications such as Hubdoc and Dext is a strong asset.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new software, platforms, integrations, and automation tools quickly.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical accounting concepts clearly to both clients and colleagues.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a highly personable, patient approach to training and client support.
- Leadership qualities and the confidence to guide stakeholders through new systems and processes.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and competing priorities.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly when troubleshooting accounting systems and integrations.
- Comfortable experimenting with new technologies and identifying creative ways to streamline workflows.
