Product Owner - Virtual Interlining

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Owner - Virtual Interlining based in India.

As a Product Owner, you will play a central role in shaping and evolving a high-impact virtual interlining product within a global travel technology environment. You will translate business objectives and market opportunities into clear product strategies, priorities, and execution plans. Working across Product, Engineering, Data Science, Sales, and Content Acquisition, you will help deliver scalable solutions that support growing demand and new business opportunities. You will develop deep expertise in complex travel technology platforms, APIs, integrations, and product economics. The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on product ownership, experimentation, and operational improvement. You will influence roadmap decisions while ensuring technical teams deliver high-quality solutions on time. Accountabilities:

• Partner with the Senior Product Manager to execute the virtual interlining roadmap, translating high-level business objectives into actionable delivery plans and priorities.
• Contribute to the product vision and strategic direction by analyzing market trends, competitors, customer needs, and business opportunities, using data-driven insights to inform recommendations.
• Develop a strong understanding of the virtual interlining platform, including its architecture, technical dependencies, integrations, and interactions with other products and platform components.
• Translate business and technical requirements into clear EPICs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery priorities, acting as a subject-matter expert throughout planning and execution.
• Manage and prioritize the product backlog while balancing feature development with platform stability, scalability, performance, and operational efficiency.
• Support R&D initiatives, experimentation, and A/B testing designed to optimize product performance and validate new opportunities.
• Build strong relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Data Science, Sales, and Content Acquisition.
• Maintain accountability across technical teams for delivery quality, timelines, and alignment with product objectives.
• Monitor platform KPIs related to system health, integration stability, performance, and operational efficiency, using insights to identify improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate dependencies, risks, competing priorities, and cross-functional activities in a fast-paced product development environment.
• Continuously assess workflows and processes, applying root-cause analysis to address operational gaps and improve scalability and efficiency.
• Analyze complex information, solve problems systematically, and make timely product decisions based on business, technical, and financial considerations.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with technical platforms, software products, APIs, integrations, or complex technology ecosystems.
• Strong experience in product ownership or a closely related product management role, with the ability to translate business requirements into actionable product deliverables.
• Experience in the travel industry is strongly preferred, particularly exposure to OTAs, airline distribution, GDS, NDC, LCCs, or airline APIs.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to understand market dynamics, competitive landscapes, business objectives, and translate them into meaningful product opportunities.
• Strong technical understanding, including the ability to work with APIs, analyze data, understand system architecture and integrations, and collaborate effectively with Engineering teams.
• Experience managing product backlogs, defining priorities, coordinating dependencies, and balancing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Ability to contribute to longer-term product vision and roadmap development while maintaining strong ownership of day-to-day execution.
• Experience supporting R&D initiatives, experimentation, and data-backed product decisions, including A/B testing.
• Understanding of cost economics and financial trade-offs when evaluating product opportunities and technical decisions.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills across both technical and business teams.
• Strong organizational and prioritization abilities, with a structured and analytical approach to complex problems.
• Passion for process improvement, operational excellence, scalable platform design, and technology-driven innovation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in an OTA specializing in flights is considered a valuable asset.
