Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Project Risk Manager based in United Kingdom.

This is a senior risk leadership role responsible for strengthening risk management across a complex EMEA project portfolio.

You will help project teams anticipate uncertainty, protect cost and schedule commitments, and make better-informed delivery decisions.

Working closely with engineering, procurement, construction, project controls, commercial, commissioning, and operations teams, you will embed risk management throughout the project lifecycle.

The role combines hands-on quantitative analysis with strategic advisory responsibilities and senior stakeholder engagement.

You will oversee project and portfolio risks, identify systemic exposures, and provide clear recommendations on mitigation, contingency, and investment decisions.

You will also help build a proactive risk culture through strong governance, assurance, reporting, and continuous improvement.

This is an opportunity to influence major infrastructure programmes in a fast-paced, international environment where effective risk management directly supports successful project delivery.

Accountabilities

    • Lead the regional project risk management programme, establishing consistent governance, standards, methodologies, processes, and escalation requirements across the portfolio.
    • Integrate risk management across the full project lifecycle and key functions, including engineering, procurement, construction, project controls, commercial, commissioning, and operations readiness.
    • Provide independent risk oversight and constructive challenge to project and functional leaders, ensuring material risks and opportunities receive appropriate attention.
    • Establish a proactive risk culture focused on early identification, clear ownership, accountability, timely escalation, and risk-informed decision-making.
    • Own and oversee project risk registers, ensuring significant risks have defined owners, mitigation strategies, action plans, residual assessments, and escalation paths.
    • Assess key delivery risks covering design, permitting, grid connections, procurement, long-lead equipment, construction, contracts, commercial performance, commissioning, energisation, and capacity delivery.
    • Consolidate project-level risks at regional level to identify emerging, systemic, correlated, and concentration risks.
    • Lead qualitative and quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis, including Monte Carlo simulation, schedule risk analysis, scenario analysis, and probabilistic techniques.
    • Assess cost exposure, schedule uncertainty, critical-path risks, key milestones, and confidence in achieving committed delivery and ready-for-service dates.
    • Develop risk-based recommendations for project contingency and management reserves, and support effective governance of contingency utilisation and release.
    • Produce clear executive reporting, dashboards, and analytics covering risk exposure, trends, mitigation effectiveness, concentrations, contingency, and delivery confidence.
    • Monitor mitigation actions, overdue items, changes in exposure, realised risks, and issues requiring project, regional, or executive escalation.
    • Conduct risk reviews and health checks to assess the quality and effectiveness of risk identification, analysis, mitigation, reporting, and governance.
    • Test key assumptions, forecasts, contingency requirements, mitigation strategies, and confidence levels to ensure material exposures are understood and appropriately communicated.
    • Identify recurring risks, systemic weaknesses, successful mitigation approaches, and lessons learned across projects, using these insights to improve future delivery.
    • Act as a trusted regional subject matter expert, advising project, regional, and executive leadership on risk-related decisions and priorities.
    • Requirements:

      • Degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
      • Significant experience in risk management, project controls, or project delivery within complex EPC, construction, infrastructure, energy, mission-critical, or major capital programmes.
      • Demonstrated experience leading project and portfolio risk management, including identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring, escalation, and assurance.
      • Strong understanding of cost, schedule, contingency, and project controls principles and how they integrate with project risk management.
      • Advanced experience with quantitative risk analysis, Monte Carlo simulation, cost and schedule risk analysis, scenario analysis, and probabilistic techniques.
      • Strong knowledge of EPC contracting, procurement, supply chain, change management, claims, and commercial risk.
      • Proven ability to influence and constructively challenge senior project and functional leaders in complex, fast-paced environments.
      • Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and executive communication skills, with the ability to translate complex risk information into clear business insights and actionable recommendations.
      • Ability to identify systemic and correlated risks across multiple projects and translate them into meaningful regional-level insights.
      • Experience with project or enterprise risk management platforms and their integration with scheduling, cost management, and reporting systems is advantageous.
      • Experience delivering hyperscale, AI, mission-critical, or large-scale data centre programmes is desirable, particularly exposure to power, cooling, grid connections, long-lead equipment, commissioning, and capacity delivery.
      • Relevant professional certification such as PMI-RMP, PMP, APM, AACE International, IRM, or an equivalent risk or project management credential is desirable.
      • Working knowledge of recognised risk management frameworks such as ISO 31000 and PMBOK, as well as relevant quality, health and safety, and environmental standards, is beneficial.
      • Familiarity with tools such as @Risk, Riskonnect, Safran, or comparable industry-standard risk management software is an advantage.
      • Benefits:

        • Competitive salary based on the value and responsibilities of the role rather than previous compensation.
        • Equity participation, providing an opportunity to share in the organisation’s long-term success.
        • Retirement or pension contributions.
        • Comprehensive healthcare, wellbeing, and insurance benefits.
        • Generous annual vacation allowance.
        • Supportive international working environment focused on professional growth, trust, and meaningful impact.
        • Benefits tailored to the local market and applicable regulations.
