This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Release Engineer based in Canada.
This role supports complex technology programs by coordinating multiple teams toward successful, predictable software releases. You will operate at the intersection of program management, Agile delivery, product coordination, and technical execution. The position focuses on aligning teams working across shared products and features so they can plan and execute as a unified release train. You will facilitate key Agile and SAFe ceremonies, manage risks and dependencies, and remove or escalate impediments. The role also requires strong stakeholder management, project planning, reporting, and documentation skills. Working across cross-functional and global teams, you will help ensure technology initiatives remain aligned with scope, timelines, budgets, and business objectives.
Accountabilities:
- Coordinate multiple teams working on shared products and features to plan and execute as a unified release train.
- Support release planning activities and facilitate ART-level ceremonies, including PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, Sprint Demos, and Inspect & Adapt sessions.
- Identify, track, manage, and escalate risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and impediments.
- Facilitate collaboration between project, product, engineering, and other cross-functional teams.
- Coach team members and stakeholders on Agile and SAFe practices when required.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Support the definition of project scope, objectives, requirements, deliverables, and technical feasibility.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, tracking milestones, dependencies, resources, and progress.
- Manage changes to scope, schedules, and costs using appropriate project management and verification practices.
- Monitor project performance using relevant project management tools, metrics, and techniques.
- Provide regular status reporting and proactively escalate significant program or business issues to management.
- Manage relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, third parties, and vendors.
- Document and maintain risks, issues, decisions, action items, approvals, and other key project information.
- Facilitate approvals for key project documentation and deliverables.
- Meet with clients and stakeholders to gather detailed requirements and clarify project needs.
- Delegate project tasks based on team members’ skills, experience, and strengths.
- Track short- and long-term goals and assess progress toward successful completion.
- Monitor budgetary objectives and recommend adjustments based on financial and performance analysis.
- Create spreadsheets, diagrams, process maps, and other materials to document requirements and processes.
- Support Engagement Managers with status reporting for technology leadership.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with third-party providers and vendors.
- Apply and continuously develop leadership, coordination, and program management skills.
- Respond proactively to business and program challenges and escalate issues appropriately.
- 5+ years of experience supporting multiple software projects in various IT roles.
- 5+ years of Program Management or Release Train Engineer experience.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, including Agile development and testing.
- Strong knowledge of SAFe Agile practices is preferred.
- Familiarity with Client SWIFT applications is an asset.
- Experience with tools such as SharePoint, S4 HANA, MS Project, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated business understanding, ideally including experience within a professional services environment.
- Proven ability to apply repeatable processes and methodologies across enterprise-wide technology projects and initiatives.
- Strong project planning, organization, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong technical and remote collaboration capabilities.
- Experience managing multiple projects and coordinating cross-functional teams within large matrix organizations.
- Ability to conduct detailed discussions directly with Project and Product Management stakeholders.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience and qualifications.
- SAFe 5 Release Train Engineer certification is a plus.
- PMP certification is a plus.
- Experience working with Agile development processes is preferred.
- Experience with packaged software development lifecycles is an asset.
