Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Commissioning Technician III based in the United States.

This is a senior-level field role focused on the installation, commissioning, and deployment of complex robotic and industrial automation systems. You will take ownership of onsite technical execution, from installation coordination through testing, calibration, and system validation. The position combines hands-on technical expertise with field leadership, troubleshooting, and mentoring responsibilities. You will work closely with clients, subcontractors, engineering teams, and multiple trades to deliver reliable, high-performing systems. The role requires strong independence, sound technical judgment, and a commitment to safety and quality. With projects across the U.S. and potential international assignments, this is an opportunity to contribute to advanced automation environments while leading and developing less-experienced technicians.

Accountabilities:

    • Lead onsite installation, deployment, and commissioning activities for complex robotic and industrial automation systems, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications.
    • Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, calibration, testing, and validation to identify and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, controls, and system-performance issues.
    • Coordinate installation activities with multiple trades, subcontractors, client teams, and project stakeholders, helping ensure work progresses according to project requirements and timelines.
    • Interpret complex mechanical, electrical, controls, and technical drawings and use them to guide installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and system updates.
    • Direct and coordinate Tech I, Tech II, and apprentice resources in the field, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and hands-on training.
    • Provide technical feedback, field observations, and recommendations to engineering and project teams to support system improvements and successful deployments.
    • Maintain high standards of safety, quality, documentation, and field best practices throughout every project.
    • Travel extensively, approximately 100% of the time, for projects throughout the United States, with potential assignments in Canada and Mexico.
    • Requirements:

      • High school diploma or GED, along with technical training in mechatronics, robotics, industrial automation, or a related technical discipline.
      • At least 7 years of hands-on experience working with robotics, automation systems, or complex industrial equipment installation and commissioning.
      • Advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems integration, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex field-level technical issues.
      • Strong understanding of building management systems (BMS), fire/life safety (FLS), and industrial networking fundamentals.
      • Demonstrated experience leading small technical teams, directing field resources, or coordinating subcontractors in complex installation environments.
      • Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and independent decision-making skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, trades, engineers, and project stakeholders.
      • Proficiency in interpreting, updating, and maintaining technical documentation, drawings, and system records.
      • OSHA 30 certification, First Aid/CPR certification, and Amazon Red Badge training are preferred; training may be provided where applicable.
      • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are preferred.
      • Experience supporting Amazon Robotics, high-volume fulfillment operations, field leadership, or site supervision is highly valued.
      • Ability and willingness to travel extensively across the U.S., with potential projects in Canada and Mexico, is required.
      • Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
      • Benefits:

        • Compensation: $45-$50 USD per hour, with the final rate dependent on experience, education, and qualifications.
        • Employment: Full-time opportunity with remote U.S.-based work and extensive onsite project travel.
        • Travel: Exposure to diverse robotics, automation, and industrial projects across the United States, with potential international assignments.
        • Professional Growth: Opportunities to lead field teams, mentor developing technicians, and expand expertise in advanced automation and robotics environments.
        • Technical Exposure: Hands-on involvement with complex robotic systems, industrial equipment, controls, networking, and system commissioning.
        • Work Environment: A dynamic, collaborative, and technically focused environment centered on engineering, problem-solving, safety, and continuous improvement.
        • Inclusive Workplace: Commitment to equal employment opportunities and a diverse, inclusive working environment.
