This remote opportunity is designed for a hands-on SAP BTP developer who wants to build impactful cloud solutions across application development, automation, and enterprise integrations. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality technology solutions using SAP BTP and its broader ecosystem. The position combines deep software engineering with expertise in UI5, Fiori, SAP Build, integrations, and cloud services. You will work across complex SAP and non-SAP environments while partnering with cross-functional teams to solve technical and business challenges. Strong emphasis is placed on coding, technical implementation, security, automation, and DevOps practices. Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality SAP BTP solutions across application development, automation, workflows, and enterprise integrations.
- Build and customize SAP UI5 and Fiori applications using Fiori Elements, Smart Controls, and local and backend annotations.
- Develop SAP Build solutions covering business processes, automation, decisions, process visibility, and application development.
- Build and maintain applications using SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP), Node.js, JavaScript, and Core Data Services (CDS).
- Design and implement integrations between SAP and non-SAP systems using SAP BTP Integration Suite, API Management, and event-driven capabilities.
- Develop and maintain integrations using REST/OData APIs and SAP systems including SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA.
- Work with a range of integration scenarios and adapters, including SFTP, SOAP, REST, IDoc, OData, JDBC, and SuccessFactors.
- Configure and utilize SAP BTP services across relevant application-development and automation scenarios, including Cloud Foundry runtimes.
- Implement and maintain SAP BTP security capabilities using XSUAA, Connectivity, Destination services, and related technologies.
- Configure and work with SAP IAS/IPS and corporate identity providers such as Okta.
- Use SAP Business Application Studio, Visual Studio Code, SAP BTP Cockpit, and related development tools to deliver and maintain solutions.
- Apply software engineering best practices across coding, version control, testing, code quality, and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub or GitLab.
- Configure and work with SAP Cloud Connector to support secure enterprise connectivity.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes, and implement reliable solutions across SAP BTP applications and integrations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable, maintainable, and high-quality technical solutions.
- At least 5 years of recent and relevant hands-on experience in SAP BTP development.
- Strong background as a software engineer, with a clear focus on coding and technical implementation rather than primarily consulting or advisory work.
- Strong understanding of SAP BTP services relevant to application development, integration, and automation.
- Hands-on expertise with SAP UI5, Fiori, Workflows, and SAP Build, including Process Automation, Build Apps, and Work Zone.
- Strong proficiency in cloud development languages including JavaScript, Node.js, TypeScript, and Python.
- Experience building applications with SAP CAP using Node.js, JavaScript, and CDS.
- Experience configuring and working with SAP BTP and a strong understanding of different runtimes, with Cloud Foundry required.
- Experience with SAP BTP Integration Suite, API Management, and event-based integrations.
- Strong application integration experience using REST/OData APIs, SAP ECC, and SAP S/4HANA.
- Hands-on experience with diverse A2A and B2B integration scenarios and major adapters such as SFTP, SOAP, REST, IDoc, OData, JDBC, and SuccessFactors.
- Experience with SAP IAS/IPS and integration with corporate identity providers such as Okta.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with XSUAA, Connectivity, Destination services, and SAP Cloud Connector.
- Proficiency with SAP Business Application Studio, Visual Studio Code, and SAP BTP Cockpit.
- Experience implementing Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub or GitLab, following DevOps best practices.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a structured approach to designing and implementing complex technical solutions.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Recent, substantial SAP BTP development experience is essential; candidates whose background is primarily BTP administration or analysis are not aligned with the role.
- Willingness to work in a development-focused position rather than a primarily consulting or advisory capacity.
- Ability to work remotely while operating on Eastern Time.
- Base salary of $125,000-$140,000 per year.
- Eligibility for an annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.
