This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a SDE-II QA Engineer based in India.
This role offers an opportunity to drive software quality across web and mobile applications in a fully remote environment. You will combine manual and automated testing to ensure reliable, high-performing products and seamless user experiences. The position involves designing robust test strategies, developing automation frameworks, and identifying issues throughout the software development lifecycle. You will work closely with engineering, product, and other stakeholders within an Agile delivery environment. Your expertise in automation, programming, API testing, and performance testing will help strengthen overall test coverage and release confidence. The role also provides an environment focused on continuous improvement, technical learning, and meaningful ownership of quality outcomes.
Accountabilities:
- Apply strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, ISTQB principles, and software testing methodologies, including regression, performance, boundary value, positive/negative, and A/B testing.
- Design, create, execute, and document manual and automated test cases to validate functionality, reliability, and product quality.
- Develop comprehensive test plans and optimized execution strategies aligned with project requirements, quality objectives, and delivery timelines.
- Build and maintain web and mobile automation using technologies such as Selenium WebDriver, WebDriver, browser drivers, locators, waits, Page Object Model, headless browsers, Selenium Grid, Appium Server, and Appium Inspector.
- Implement automated tests across supported browsers and mobile platforms while ensuring scalable and maintainable test coverage.
- Manage test documentation and defect tracking using tools such as TestLink, TestRail, Jira, or Bugzilla.
- Use programming and scripting technologies such as Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Ruby, Python, and Cucumber to support automation initiatives.
- Work with code management and CI/CD tools including GitHub, Bitbucket, GitLab, Jenkins, or CircleCI.
- Perform API testing with tools such as Postman and contribute to performance testing using JMeter.
- Analyze complex technical issues, collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders, and contribute to continuous improvements in testing practices.
- Participate effectively in Agile development teams, supporting iterative delivery, issue tracking, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Stay current with emerging QA technologies, automation practices, testing frameworks, and industry trends.
- Proven experience as a QA Engineer, with hands-on expertise in both manual and automated testing.
- Strong understanding of software testing concepts, SDLC, STLC, regression testing, performance testing, defect life cycle, and test design techniques.
- Practical experience with Selenium WebDriver and web automation frameworks.
- Experience with mobile automation and Appium, including Appium Server, Desired Capabilities, and Appium Inspector.
- Experience with Playwright, with hands-on automation experience required.
- Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, along with experience in one or more additional programming or scripting languages such as Java, Python, or Ruby.
- Familiarity with Cucumber and behavior-driven testing approaches.
- Experience with version control, source code management, and CI/CD tools such as Git, GitHub, Bitbucket, GitLab, Jenkins, or CircleCI.
- Knowledge of API testing with Postman and basic performance testing with JMeter.
- Experience using QA and defect-management platforms such as Jira, TestRail, TestLink, or Bugzilla.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and work effectively within Agile teams.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, ownership, and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Willingness to work the 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM IST shift.
