Senior BI Consultant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior BI Consultant based in Brazil.

Join a high-performing Business Intelligence and Analytics practice focused on turning complex data into clear, actionable business insights.

You’ll own BI solutions end-to-end, from understanding business needs and defining KPIs to designing, developing, and optimizing analytical platforms.

The role combines deep technical expertise in Power BI, SQL, data modeling, and Microsoft Fabric with strong consulting and stakeholder management skills.

You’ll collaborate closely with business leaders, data engineers, architects, developers, and other technical teams.

Your work will help organizations improve performance, make better decisions, and unlock measurable value from their data.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of complex BI initiatives while contributing to modern cloud-based data architectures and continuous improvement.

You’ll also have the opportunity to mentor other BI professionals and work on impactful projects for international clients.

Accountabilities

• Design and implement end-to-end Business Intelligence solutions aligned with business, analytical, and reporting requirements.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand objectives, processes, KPIs, performance measures, and reporting needs.
• Translate business requirements into effective data models, analytical solutions, dashboards, and visualizations.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, semantic models, and advanced DAX measures.
• Design scalable data models using dimensional modeling principles, star schemas, facts, dimensions, and slowly changing dimensions.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and complex data transformation processes.
• Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines that integrate information from multiple data sources.
• Work with Microsoft Fabric capabilities including Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, pipelines, notebooks, and semantic models.
• Contribute to modern Medallion Architecture implementations across Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers.
• Ensure BI solutions meet high standards for data quality, consistency, security, scalability, and performance.
• Assess existing BI environments and identify opportunities for modernization, optimization, and improved business value.
• Define and implement KPIs, metrics, balanced scorecards, and management reporting solutions.
• Troubleshoot data, reporting, and performance issues across the BI technology stack.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Solution Architects, Developers, and business teams throughout the full data-to-insight lifecycle.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced BI professionals.
• Communicate findings, recommendations, and technical considerations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 7+ years of professional experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Warehousing, or a closely related field.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Power BI, including advanced DAX, semantic models, dashboards, and reporting solutions.
• Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization, complex transformations, stored procedures, and views.
• Strong understanding of data modeling and dimensional modeling concepts, including star schemas, facts, dimensions, and slowly changing dimensions.
• Proven experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT processes and integrating data from multiple sources such as databases, APIs, files, ERP, CRM, and cloud platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric or comparable modern data platforms.
• Experience with data warehouse and/or lakehouse architectures and a practical understanding of Medallion Architecture.
• Strong understanding of BI architecture and the complete lifecycle from raw data through transformation, modeling, analysis, and business insight.
• Demonstrated ability to gather business requirements and translate them into practical, scalable technical solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, combined with a structured and detail-oriented approach.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and technical teams.
• Advanced English proficiency is required to work effectively with international and US-based clients.
