Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer (Linux/Kion) based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to support secure, cloud-based infrastructure within a highly regulated, mission-driven environment.

You will combine advanced Linux administration with cloud engineering and DevOps practices across AWS and Azure.

The position plays a key role in maintaining reliable systems, resolving complex technical issues, and strengthening security and performance.

You will work with technologies such as Kion, Ansible, LDAP, SSO, SPNEGO, and SAML while supporting enterprise-scale environments.

The role also involves translating customer and technical needs into practical infrastructure solutions and continuous improvements.

Success requires strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams and stakeholders.

This is an impactful opportunity for an experienced cloud engineer who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges in a security-focused environment.

Accountabilities

    • Manage and maintain cloud-based IT infrastructure, systems, and operational processes across enterprise environments.
    • Provide second-level diagnosis and resolution for complex infrastructure and system issues, including analysis of logs, traces, service requests, and supporting documentation.
    • Support the implementation, troubleshooting, maintenance, configuration, and enhancement of customer IT systems.
    • Monitor network and computer system performance through master consoles and coordinate network access, connectivity, and subnet operations with relevant engineering teams.
    • Perform Linux and UNIX administration activities across large-scale environments.
    • Develop, test, debug, and enhance Ansible Playbooks, recipes, and related automation solutions.
    • Analyze security scans, remediate findings, and address Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) to strengthen system security and compliance.
    • Coordinate configuration changes, installations, and upgrades with application owners, including planning, scheduling, status reporting, and adherence to established change-control procedures.
    • Coordinate with third-party teams and contribute to communications, environment reviews, and audits of installed systems and operational processes.
    • Create and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and written instructions for routine and non-routine activities.
    • Evaluate new technologies and products and provide recommendations for improving infrastructure capabilities, reliability, and security.
    • Provide guidance or supervision to junior team members when assigned.
    • Requirements

      • 5-7 years of professional experience installing, configuring, and administering UNIX/Linux-based systems within large-scale enterprise environments.
      • Hands-on experience supporting and securing cloud-based systems in AWS and Azure.
      • Practical experience implementing and configuring Kion.
      • Experience requesting and installing secure certificates, enabling Global Security through LDAP registries, and configuring SSO using SPNEGO and SAML.
      • Strong UNIX shell scripting capabilities and experience with DevOps and automation tools, particularly Ansible.
      • Advanced troubleshooting and analytical skills, including log and trace analysis, vendor coordination, service-request management, documentation, and end-to-end problem resolution.
      • Strong understanding of security standards and hardening requirements, including DHS 4300A, DoD STIG, and FISMA requirements.
      • Ability to evaluate emerging products and technologies and recommend solutions that improve existing environments.
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
      • Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision while also contributing effectively within structured, collaborative teams.
      • Strong time management, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities, with excellent attention to accuracy and detail.
      • Flexibility and adaptability when managing competing priorities and changing operational demands.
      • Ability to collaborate effectively with personnel at different organizational levels, including stakeholders outside the IT function and external organizations.
      • Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS Public Trust clearance; the clearance must be fully granted before the candidate can begin the program.
      • AWS, Azure, Ansible, or other relevant DevOps certifications are desirable.
      • Ability to function effectively in a general office environment.
      • Benefits

        • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage.
        • 401(k) retirement plan.
        • Tuition reimbursement.
        • Flexible Spending Account (FSA).
        • 11 paid federal holidays.
        • Three weeks of paid time off.
        • Full-time employment opportunity supporting a mission-focused technology environment.
        • Opportunity to work with modern cloud, Linux, automation, and security technologies.
        • Professional environment focused on collaboration, continuous improvement, and secure infrastructure operations.
