Senior Data Analyst - Business Intelligence

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Data Analyst - Business Intelligence based in United States.

The Senior Data Analyst will help shape and advance the business intelligence function supporting a key operational business line.

You will work closely with business stakeholders to understand complex needs and translate them into scalable analytics solutions.

A core focus will be developing and enhancing dashboards and reporting that give leaders clear, actionable visibility into performance.

You will use SQL and modern cloud data platforms to analyze complex datasets, uncover trends, and identify opportunities for improvement.

The role also provides an opportunity to establish stronger standards around reporting, data quality, governance, and metric definitions.

You will collaborate with data and technology teams to strengthen data models, warehouse capabilities, and analytics infrastructure.

This is a high-ownership role for an analytical and business-minded professional who can turn data into decisions and measurable operational impact.

Accountabilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand objectives, identify reporting and analytics requirements, and translate business questions into effective data solutions.
• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance sophisticated dashboards and reports using Sigma or a comparable modern business intelligence platform.
• Deliver clear, actionable insights that help business leaders and operational teams understand performance and make informed decisions.
• Use SQL to query, transform, validate, and analyze data from multiple sources, including cloud-based data warehouse environments.
• Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, performance drivers, opportunities, risks, and areas requiring attention.
• Establish and promote best practices for reporting, data governance, metric definitions, documentation, visualization, and data integrity.
• Improve and scale existing BI assets and reporting workflows through simplification, standardization, and automation.
• Collaborate with data and technology teams on data modeling, warehouse development, and improvements to the Snowflake environment.
• Evaluate analytics tools, processes, and capabilities and recommend enhancements that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the BI function.
• Manage analytics initiatives independently from requirements gathering and solution design through development, delivery, and continuous improvement.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in business intelligence, data analytics, reporting, or a related discipline.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, including experience querying, transforming, validating, and analyzing large and complex datasets.
• Demonstrated experience creating sophisticated dashboards and reporting solutions using Sigma or a comparable modern BI platform.
• Experience working with cloud data warehouses, with strong preference for hands-on Snowflake experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate ambiguous business questions into meaningful analysis and actionable recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and data insights to non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to gather requirements, balance competing priorities, and independently drive analytics initiatives from concept through delivery.
• Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, data governance, reporting standards, and data visualization best practices is preferred.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to understand operational objectives and connect analytics work to measurable business outcomes.
• Collaborative and proactive working style, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment and take ownership of deliverables.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, consistency, and reliable reporting.
