Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst - Finance & Business Operations based in Canada.

This is a hands-on finance role with broad responsibility across financial analysis, project accounting, reporting, budgeting, payroll, and business operations. You will play a key role in evaluating program profitability, managing financial performance, and supporting accurate and timely client billing. The position offers significant exposure to senior management, program leaders, clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders. You will combine detailed financial analysis with operational oversight to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. The role also provides an opportunity to improve financial processes, strengthen internal controls, and introduce greater efficiency through automation and better reporting. This is a fully remote position for an experienced finance professional who is comfortable taking ownership in a fast-paced, multi-client environment

Accountabilities:

    • Develop and review program pricing, budgets, and profitability models in collaboration with Sales and other stakeholders, ensuring accuracy, completeness, appropriate margins, and management approval before launch.
    • Maintain and update budgets based on changes in program scope, client requirements, and actual financial results.
    • Partner with Program Management to ensure accurate and timely client invoicing in line with approved budgets and contractual requirements.
    • Create and issue client invoices through QuickBooks, monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding balances, and resolve billing discrepancies to support healthy cash flow.
    • Manage commission reconciliations, including comparing client sales reports with internal records and preparing commission summaries, supporting invoices, and performance reports.
    • Oversee Accounts Payable activities, reviewing vendor bills, employee expenses, supporting documentation, approvals, and payment schedules while maintaining accurate QuickBooks records.
    • Oversee the biweekly payroll process through ADP, reviewing employee hours, payroll data, vacation and statutory holiday calculations, employee changes, terminations, Records of Employment, and payroll reconciliations.
    • Prepare monthly project P&Ls, profitability reports, forecasts, and budget-versus-actual analyses, evaluating revenue, labour, commissions, vendor costs, margins, staffing costs, hours, incentives, and other key performance indicators.
    • Identify financial variances, trends, risks, and opportunities and translate findings into actionable recommendations for management.
    • Produce recurring financial and operational reports for management and clients, while maintaining financial models, reporting trackers, master files, and other analytical tools.
    • Support monthly and year-end financial close activities, including reconciliations, schedules, accrual analysis, supporting documentation, and financial reporting.
    • Assist with external accounting, audit, tax, WSIB, and other periodic financial or regulatory requirements by preparing accurate schedules and working papers.
    • Provide financial analysis and ad hoc support to senior finance leadership as required.
    • Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, reporting workflows, budgeting templates, controls, and financial models.
    • Strengthen review and approval processes across billing, Accounts Payable, payroll, and financial reporting while documenting key procedures and reducing operational risk.
    • Identify opportunities to automate manual finance processes and improve the accuracy, consistency, efficiency, and timeliness of financial information.
    • Requirements

      • 4+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, management accounting, project accounting, business operations finance, or a similar role.
      • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
      • Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, project profitability, and financial performance analysis.
      • Advanced Excel capabilities, including building financial models, analytical tools, reports, and data-driven reporting.
      • Hands-on experience with ADP, QuickBooks, and time-tracking systems.
      • Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, payroll processes, reconciliations, and financial controls.
      • Experience working in project-based businesses, professional services, marketing agencies, staffing organizations, or other multi-client environments is an asset.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work with large volumes of financial and operational data and identify inconsistencies, trends, and opportunities.
      • Exceptional attention to detail and a consistently high level of accuracy.
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work with senior management, program managers, clients, vendors, and employees.
      • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
      • Strong ownership, accountability, organization, and follow-through.
      • Comfortable working autonomously in a fully remote environment.
      • Must be located in Ontario, Canada, with a suitable home office, reliable high-speed internet, and availability during regular business hours.
      • Benefits

        • Competitive salary of CAD 75,000-85,000 per year.
        • Fully remote, work-from-home position for candidates located in Ontario.
        • Full-time, permanent employment.
        • Broad exposure to financial analysis, project accounting, payroll, reporting, and business operations.
        • Significant interaction with senior management, program leaders, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
        • Opportunity to contribute to process improvement, financial automation, internal controls, and operational efficiency.
        • High level of ownership and responsibility within a fast-paced, multi-client environment.
