Profile match
Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Human Resources Manager based in the United States.

This is a hands-on HR leadership role within a fast-growing, remote-first fintech environment.

You will serve as the primary HR operator, owning critical people processes across a distributed U.S. and Canadian workforce.

The role combines HR operations, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, compliance, and HR technology.

You will work closely with senior leadership and talent acquisition to ensure employees and managers have the support and processes they need to succeed.

A major focus will be building reliable, scalable HR processes while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and legal compliance.

You will also coach managers, lead practical training, and help strengthen accountability and performance across the organization.

This opportunity is ideal for an execution-oriented HR professional who enjoys owning the details and making HR processes work exceptionally well.

Accountabilities:

    • Own end-to-end HR operations, including onboarding, offboarding, employee records, organizational data, benefits administration, and HR documentation for U.S. and Canadian employees and contractors.
    • Manage onboarding workflows through the HRIS, coordinating equipment, access, documentation, and other requirements to deliver a consistent employee experience.
    • Lead offboarding processes, including access revocation, device returns, equity and system updates, final-pay coordination, and employee record closure.
    • Maintain accurate employee data, organizational structures, workflows, automations, and reporting within the HR technology environment.
    • Administer employee benefits, including open enrollment, renewals, carrier coordination, employee questions, and policy accuracy across the U.S. and Canada.
    • Manage performance review cycles, timelines, templates, documentation, and employee development processes through the performance management platform.
    • Coach managers on setting expectations, addressing performance concerns, documenting issues, conducting accountability conversations, and managing performance improvement plans.
    • Serve as an early point of escalation for employee relations matters, handling sensitive workplace issues with discretion, fairness, and sound judgment.
    • Maintain and communicate HR policies covering areas such as paid time off, sick leave, remote work, documentation, and other employment practices.
    • Monitor applicable U.S. and Canadian employment law requirements and keep the employee handbook and related policies current as regulations evolve.
    • Own HR-related security and compliance requirements, including maintaining evidence and documentation needed for annual SOC 2 or similar security audits.
    • Deliver practical manager training focused on expectations, accountability, effective hiring, retention, and other organizational capability needs.
    • Coordinate external leadership and training providers, managing vendor relationships, logistics, programs, and follow-through.
    • Prepare compensation recommendations for new hires and promotions using market data, internal equity considerations, and organizational budget parameters.
    • Coordinate the annual compensation review process, including data preparation, equity analysis, cost modeling, and recommendations for senior leadership.
    • Support recruiting operations by coordinating interviews, candidate communications, and offer logistics in partnership with talent acquisition.
    • Provide basic IT and workplace technology support, including password resets, Google Workspace access, device coordination, and hardware procurement.
    • Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and improve HR processes, systems, reporting, and employee experiences.
    • Work independently across multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy, follow-through, confidentiality, and service.
    • Requirements

      • 5-8 years of progressive HR experience in a hands-on HR generalist, HR manager, or comparable role, ideally within a startup, scaleup, or similarly lean organization.
      • Demonstrated ability to independently own multiple HR functions without relying heavily on a large supporting team.
      • Strong working knowledge of U.S. and Canadian employment law fundamentals, particularly in the context of a distributed workforce.
      • Proven experience managing performance processes, including difficult employee conversations, performance improvement plans, documentation, and termination support.
      • Practical employee relations experience with strong judgment, discretion, empathy, and the ability to navigate sensitive workplace situations.
      • Experience designing and managing onboarding and offboarding processes, including creating reliable checklists, workflows, and controls.
      • Strong HR systems and technology skills, with the ability to quickly learn new platforms, build workflows and automations, and maintain high-quality employee data.
      • Experience managing benefits administration, open enrollment, renewals, employee questions, and coordination with benefits providers.
      • Experience with SOC 2 or similar compliance programs, including understanding HR evidence requirements and independently maintaining audit documentation.
      • Strong organizational and project management abilities, with a proven track record of managing multiple priorities and deadlines without sacrificing quality.
      • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with employees, managers, senior leadership, candidates, and external partners.
      • Comfortable providing practical manager coaching and delivering live training sessions on performance, accountability, hiring, retention, and related topics.
      • Comfortable handling basic IT and workplace technology responsibilities, including password resets, Google Workspace administration, device coordination, and hardware logistics.
      • Strong problem-solving mindset, resourcefulness, attention to detail, and willingness to take ownership of operational challenges.
      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Human Resources, Business, Management, or a related field is advantageous.
      • Experience in fintech, SaaS, or technology environments, particularly at Series A-C stage, is preferred.
      • Experience supporting both U.S. and Canadian employees is preferred.
      • Familiarity with Rippling, Lattice, Ashby, Checkr, Vanta, or comparable HR, recruiting, performance, and compliance platforms is a plus.
      • CHRP or equivalent Canadian HR certification is a plus.
      • Experience coordinating external training vendors or leadership development programs is also valued.
      • Benefits

        • Base salary of $90,000-$120,000 CAD.
        • Performance bonus of up to 10% of base salary annually.
        • Stock options in a high-growth fintech company.
        • Remote-first work culture.
        • 100% coverage of medical, dental, and vision premiums for employees enrolled in the base U.S. plans, with significant contributions toward other plan options.
        • 100% coverage of extended medical, dental, and vision premiums for employees and their families under the comprehensive Canadian plan.
        • Retirement plan with 4% company matching.
        • 8 weeks of paid parental leave for birthing parents and 4 weeks for non-birthing parents.
        • 3-5 weeks of PTO, depending on tenure.
        • 5 health days.
        • 15 paid holidays.
        • End-of-year company shutdown.
        • Learning and professional development opportunities.
        • Fast-paced, collaborative environment with meaningful ownership and autonomy.
        • Opportunity to play a central role in building scalable HR operations within a growing technology organization.
        • Inclusive workplace committed to equal employment opportunities and diverse perspectives.
