Senior Platform Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer based in India.

This role offers the opportunity to design and operate scalable data platforms in a modern cloud environment.

You will work extensively with Google Cloud Platform, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and data transformation technologies.

The position combines hands-on engineering with a strong focus on reliability, security, automation, and performance.

You’ll collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and fellow engineers to ensure trusted and accessible data.

Your work will directly contribute to efficient, resilient, and cost-effective data infrastructure.

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and manage scalable and reliable data platforms using Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Implement and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform, ensuring consistent and manageable environments.
• Automate deployment and delivery workflows through CI/CD practices, particularly with GitHub Actions.
• Build and maintain data transformation workflows using dbt and support high-quality, reliable data availability.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver effective data solutions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines and infrastructure for performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Apply appropriate security practices and help ensure data infrastructure complies with relevant standards and regulations.
• Investigate and resolve infrastructure and data platform issues, contributing to continuous improvements in platform stability and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Proven professional experience as a Platform Engineer or in a similar cloud, data infrastructure, or DevOps-focused role.
• Strong hands-on expertise with GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Run, Cloud Workflows, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, or comparable technologies.
• Practical experience with CI/CD tools and workflows, particularly GitHub Actions.
• Experience using dbt for data modeling and transformation.
• Solid understanding of DevOps principles, infrastructure automation, deployment practices, and cloud operations.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or a similar language.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, combined with strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and data-focused teams.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of technical challenges, and contribute effectively within a collaborative consulting environment.
