Senior Software Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer based in United States.

The Senior Software Engineer will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, building reliable and scalable web applications from concept through production.

This role requires strong front-end and back-end expertise, along with the ability to transform designs and ideas into high-quality, functional software.

You will work across new feature development, legacy code modernization, testing, debugging, and continuous improvement.

The position combines technical ownership with close collaboration across engineering and Quality Assurance teams.

You will manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining disciplined development, testing, and deployment practices.

Strong communication skills are essential, particularly when translating technical challenges into clear explanations for non-technical stakeholders.

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain both front-end and back-end components of web applications.
• Transform ideas and product concepts into functional, iterative, and highly releasable software solutions.
• Translate design documents and technical requirements into clean, maintainable, production-ready code.
• Work independently while collaborating closely with software engineers, Quality Assurance engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Understand, refactor, and modernize legacy code while progressively moving systems toward current open standards and development practices.
• Write, maintain, and improve unit tests and feature tests to support software quality and reliability.
• Follow structured and disciplined approaches to software development, testing, deployment, and release management.
• Investigate technical issues and deliver accurate, effective bug fixes.
• Take ownership of assigned projects, establish realistic deadlines, and proactively communicate progress, risks, and challenges.
• Manage time and priorities effectively across multiple projects and tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
• Analyze test results, identify problem areas, and implement appropriate technical solutions.
• Generate relevant statistics and reports to communicate programming and project status to management and team members.
• Apply strong self-management and time-management practices to consistently deliver high-quality work.
• Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly and professionally to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Apply AI-assisted development tools, where appropriate, to improve productivity while validating generated outputs and maintaining engineering, quality, and security standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of extensive software engineering experience with PHP and modern frameworks such as Symfony or Laravel.
• Strong experience with HTML5, jQuery, Vue, SASS, and CSS.
• Demonstrated ability to work across both front-end and back-end technologies.
• Experience taking software features from initial concept through implementation, testing, deployment, and iterative improvement.
• Experience designing and delivering features using modern AI-assisted development tools for activities such as code generation, debugging, and test automation.
• Strong engineering judgment and the ability to validate AI-generated outputs while maintaining high standards for code quality, reliability, and security.
• Experience working with automated testing, unit testing, feature testing, debugging, and code quality practices.
• Ability to understand and improve existing or legacy codebases.
• Experience working in Agile development environments and familiarity with Jira.
• AWS and cloud-based web application experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured and detail-oriented approach to development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong organizational, self-management, and time-management abilities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative engineering team.
