Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Tax Analyst based in United States.

This is a detail-oriented tax role within a collaborative finance team, offering the opportunity to deepen expertise across corporate tax operations. You will take ownership of quarterly and annual tax provisions while supporting sales and use tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions. The role also combines tax accounting, general ledger management, financial reconciliation, and cross-functional partnership. You will work closely with Accounting, AP, AR, Legal, and other stakeholders to resolve tax-related questions and improve operational accuracy. Your work will be reviewed by senior tax leadership, providing a strong environment for mentorship and continued technical development. The position is well suited to a curious tax professional who enjoys investigating discrepancies, understanding root causes, and using technology to improve tax processes.

Accountabilities:

    • Lead the preparation and calculation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740, including deferred tax assets and liabilities, tax basis balance sheets, and valuation allowance analyses.
    • Prepare supporting tax footnote disclosures and tax rate reconciliations while maintaining accurate and well-documented tax accounting workpapers.
    • Reconcile monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns across multiple state and local jurisdictions, ensuring tax information is complete and accurate.
    • Audit and verify customer exemption certificates, investigate billing tax disputes, and support the resolution of indirect tax issues.
    • Support state and local sales tax audits by gathering relevant documentation, transaction details, reconciliations, and other required information.
    • Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end tax-related general ledger journal entries and maintain accurate tax accounting records.
    • Perform detailed monthly balance sheet reconciliations for tax-related accounts, including accrued taxes, deferred taxes, sales tax payable, and payroll tax payable.
    • Identify, investigate, and resolve variances or discrepancies in tax accounts promptly, tracing information back to its source to determine underlying issues.
    • Serve as a primary tax contact for AP, AR, Accounting, and Legal teams, providing clear guidance and resolving operational tax questions.
    • Communicate tax requirements, concepts, and guidelines clearly to non-tax stakeholders while supporting effective collaboration across departments.
    • Requirements:

      • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with 2-4 years of relevant tax experience in public accounting, corporate tax, or a hybrid environment.
      • Possess working knowledge of ASC 740 income tax accounting principles and general sales tax concepts, with the ability to apply this knowledge to practical tax and accounting activities.
      • Demonstrate strong analytical curiosity and a natural tendency to investigate discrepancies, ask questions, trace data to its source, and understand the root causes behind financial or tax issues.
      • Be able to explain complex tax concepts clearly and concisely through written documentation, reports, and conversations with non-tax stakeholders.
      • Be comfortable working in a structured environment where calculations, workpapers, reconciliations, and supporting documentation are subject to rigorous technical review.
      • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, organization, accuracy, and the ability to manage recurring tax and accounting deadlines effectively.
      • Experience with tools such as Zuora, Sage, Anrok, or Salesforce is a plus.
      • Have experience with or exposure to AI-powered tools and an interest in using technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness within tax operations.
      • A CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification is considered a bonus.
      • Benefits:

        • Starting salary range of $75,000-$120,000 USD, based on the intended level for the role.
        • Comprehensive medical benefits, including dental and vision coverage.
        • Equity package in the form of stock options.
        • Technology allowance covering items such as hardware, software, and reading materials.
        • Flexible vacation and sick days.
        • Strong mentorship and technical development through collaboration with senior tax leadership.
        • Opportunities to broaden expertise across corporate tax provisioning, indirect tax, general ledger accounting, and cross-functional finance operations.
