Jobgether is a Belgian recruitment platform built entirely around remote and flexible work, aggregating openings from thousands of employers that allow work from outside an office. Its matching engine ranks roles against a candidate's skills, seniority and stated preferences on location and flexibility, rather than leaving people to filter a keyword search, and it verifies how genuinely remote each posting is. The company also runs an AI screening layer that shortlists applicants for employers, and publishes research and guidance on distributed work practices alongside the job marketplace itself.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Safety and Security Representative based in United States.

This role supports a safe, secure, and welcoming environment across retail locations in the assigned area. You will help identify and address safety risks, respond to security concerns, and de-escalate challenging situations while maintaining a professional customer-focused approach. The position combines in-store security, loss prevention, incident documentation, safety audits, and team training. You will work closely with store leadership, regional teams, facilities, peer organizations, and law enforcement when appropriate. The role requires strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to act independently in fast-changing situations. It is a hands-on position with regular local travel and a flexible schedule covering days, evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight shifts

Accountabilities:

    • Maintain strict compliance with applicable laws, safety standards, security procedures, loss prevention practices, and internal policies while supporting safe operations across assigned retail locations.
    • Provide a visible security presence, conduct store patrols and safety walks, accompany team members when needed, and respond promptly to situations that may create safety or business disruption.
    • De-escalate confrontations and address individuals whose behavior presents safety concerns, while maintaining a calm, professional, and customer-focused approach.
    • Identify and address environmental safety issues, including situations involving illicit substances, bodily fluids, loitering, solicitation, shoplifting, and other hazards.
    • Document theft incidents, escalated situations, safety concerns, patrol activity, and other relevant events through accurate and detailed daily reporting.
    • Conduct safety, security, and loss prevention audits, identify opportunities for improvement, and help develop environmental measures that can reduce risks at specific locations.
    • Provide safety and loss prevention training to store teams and participate in incident and accident reviews to help prevent future occurrences.
    • Review and request camera footage when needed, assist with camera positioning, and operate or troubleshoot network-based camera systems.
    • Build effective working relationships with store management, regional leaders, facilities teams, external partners, and law enforcement while handling sensitive information with appropriate discretion and confidentiality.
    • Support occasional overnight construction projects by helping maintain location security and assist with other store responsibilities when operational needs require it.
    • Travel regularly throughout the assigned local area, including Boulder, Colorado, with occasional travel outside the assigned territory as needed.
    • Requirements:

      • Have a high school diploma or GED, with two or more years of previous security, retail, or loss prevention experience preferred.
      • Hold or be able to obtain the required Security Guard license for the City of Denver, Colorado, and be able to successfully pass a background check.
      • Bring a working knowledge of safety, security, and loss prevention principles, with prior internal theft case resolution experience considered an advantage.
      • Demonstrate strong communication skills for both public interactions and detailed incident reporting, along with a friendly, professional, and composed demeanor.
      • Be highly detail-oriented and able to maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with established policies and procedures.
      • Be capable of explaining safety and security policies to store teams, identifying challenges from the perspective of store employees, and proposing practical solutions.
      • Be comfortable operating and troubleshooting network camera systems and using standard business software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
      • Demonstrate sound judgment, independent decision-making, and strong problem-solving skills when responding to difficult or rapidly changing situations.
      • Be comfortable working independently while maintaining effective relationships with store teams and other stakeholders.
      • Have reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout the assigned area.
      • Be available to work a variable schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and occasional night shifts, according to operational requirements.
      • Be physically able to perform the demands of a retail environment, including frequent walking, standing, reaching, gripping, bending, twisting, and lifting, as well as occasional climbing, kneeling, squatting, and team lifting of heavier items.
      • Be comfortable working in varied environments that may involve noise, heat, cold, wet or humid conditions, outdoor areas, heights, dust, fumes, sharp equipment, and congested worksites.
      • Benefits:

        • Hourly pay ranging from $23.00 to $27.50 USD.
        • Birthday bonus pay and holiday pay for five store-closure holidays.
        • Paid time off, including sick days and vacation, with increases based on tenure.
        • Annual Vitamin Bucks of up to $2,080 in store credit, along with a crew member discount and other customer appreciation programs.
        • Paid nutrition education and access to health and wellness programs.
        • Employee Assistance Program and employee referral program.
        • Regularly scheduled pay increases and opportunities for advancement and career development.
        • For full-time employees working 30+ hours per week, medical, dental, and vision insurance are available.
        • Paid parental leave and paid medical leave through company-sponsored short-term disability coverage.
        • Company-paid short-term disability and life insurance, plus voluntary benefits such as hospital indemnity, accident, long-term disability, and term life insurance.
        • 401(k) retirement savings plan with discretionary company matching, along with healthcare and dependent care FSAs and an HSA with company matching.
