Software Engineer I

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer I based in India.

This is a remote-first software engineering opportunity focused on enhancing and evolving an established enterprise product. You’ll work across new feature development, product enhancements, customer issue remediation, and code quality. The role combines hands-on development with close collaboration across engineering, QA, and product teams. You’ll contribute throughout the Agile development lifecycle, from understanding requirements through implementation and review. Accountabilities:

• Develop new features and extend existing functionality within an established product suite, balancing innovation with the stability and maintainability of existing code.
• Investigate and remediate customer-reported issues, identifying effective technical solutions while maintaining a strong focus on customer experience.
• Participate in code reviews, helping maintain coding standards, quality, performance, and long-term maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with QA engineers, Product Owners, and other developers to clarify requirements, evaluate solutions, and deliver reliable product enhancements.
• Participate actively in the full Agile development lifecycle, including planning, implementation, status updates, reviews, and continuous improvement.
• Work effectively within an existing codebase, understanding established architecture and development practices before introducing changes.
• Contribute to the adoption of AI-assisted development tools and technologies where they can improve engineering productivity and outcomes.
• Take ownership of assigned development work, proactively identifying better ways to solve problems and improve the product.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical discipline.
• 3-5 years of professional experience developing with ASP.NET, with strong hands-on experience in a Windows development environment.
• At least 3 years of experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
• At least 2 years of experience with Angular.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Angular, and ASP.NET 4.8 using C# and/or VB.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development technologies and tools such as OpenAI, GitHub Copilot, or Claude.
• Working knowledge of SQL Server, Git/Bitbucket, Jira, Microsoft Visual Studio, and Google Material is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of software development practices, code reviews, debugging, and working within established application architectures.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across distributed teams.
• Strong customer orientation and the ability to understand how technical decisions affect user experience.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.
• Collaborative mindset with the confidence to contribute ideas, receive feedback, and constructively influence technical decisions.
• Demonstrated curiosity, strong work ethic, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
