Staff+ Software Engineer, Product

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff+ Software Engineer, Product based in Canada.

This is a senior individual-contributor role focused on owning and leading major product experiences across an AI-native financial planning platform.

You’ll solve complex full-stack problems spanning intuitive, high-performance interfaces and robust financial data systems.

The role combines product thinking, technical depth, and close collaboration with customers and cross-functional teams.

You’ll take initiatives from early problem discovery through architecture, implementation, launch, and continuous iteration.

You’ll also help shape AI-native capabilities, including orchestration, retrieval, and tool-based workflows.

As a Staff+ engineer, your influence will extend beyond your own projects by raising engineering standards and building systems adopted by other teams.

The environment is remote-first, highly autonomous, pragmatic, and suited to engineers who enjoy building complex B2B products from the ground up.

Accountabilities

• Own product features end to end, from understanding customer and business problems with stakeholders through technical design, implementation, launch, and iteration.
• Lead major product surfaces across multiple product lines, making sound architectural and engineering decisions across the stack.
• Build performant, intuitive, spreadsheet-grade user interfaces capable of handling large and complex financial datasets.
• Design scalable data models and APIs that remain reliable across actuals, forecasts, scenarios, and multiple product experiences.
• Develop systems supporting streaming results and long-running processes while maintaining a responsive and dependable user experience.
• Build AI-native product capabilities, including orchestration, retrieval, tool calls, and related intelligent workflows.
• Work directly with customers to understand their problems and translate those insights into effective product and technical solutions.
• Raise the engineering bar through high-quality implementation, thoughtful code reviews, strong architectural decisions, and clear technical communication.
• Build reusable systems and patterns that enable other engineering teams to move faster and improve the overall product experience.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a senior or Staff+ software engineer building and shipping complex, highly intuitive B2B products.
• Strong full-stack engineering capabilities, with the ability to reason effectively from user interface through backend services and data stores.
• Demonstrated experience building products where performance, usability, reliability, and attention to detail are critical.
• Experience designing data models, APIs, and backend systems that support complex product requirements and large datasets.
• Strong product mindset and the ability to work directly with customers to understand needs before translating them into technical solutions.
• Experience with AI-native product development, including areas such as orchestration, retrieval, tool calls, or intelligent workflows, is highly valuable.
• Strong engineering fundamentals, with a focus on writing correct, maintainable, and easy-to-understand code.
• High level of autonomy and ownership, ideally demonstrated through experience as a founder, engineering lead, startup builder, or similar high-agency environment.
• Pragmatic approach to technology, with the judgment to select simple solutions that effectively solve the problem and enable incremental delivery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to create systems, practices, or technical solutions that other teams willingly adopt.
• Experience working on complex products from the ground up is strongly preferred.
• Candidates should be based within the Americas, with Brazil being the target location for this opportunity.
