This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Leader (Fullstack), Industry Experience based in Canada.

This is a senior technical leadership opportunity for an engineer who combines deep full-stack expertise with strong backend architecture capabilities. You will shape the technical direction of high-impact fintech products while remaining closely involved in engineering execution. The role combines architecture, hands-on development, team mentorship, cloud infrastructure, and AI-driven engineering practices. You will help integrate machine learning capabilities into products serving demanding trading environments. Working across technical and business stakeholders, you will translate strategic priorities into scalable and reliable solutions. Accountabilities

• Own technical architecture and engineering standards across React, Next.js, Node.js, and supporting technologies, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and aligned with business objectives.
• Provide technical leadership to a growing engineering team through mentoring, code reviews, pairing, technical guidance, and continuous development of engineering capabilities.
• Champion AI-powered development practices and automation to improve engineering productivity, code quality, delivery speed, and problem-solving across the team.
• Lead the integration of machine learning and AI-driven capabilities into product features, particularly for fintech and trading-related use cases.
• Architect, deploy, and operate scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS, ensuring reliability and performance under real-world market conditions.
• Design and evolve scalable backend systems, RESTful APIs, services, and architectures while maintaining strong full-stack awareness.
• Translate business priorities into clear technical roadmaps and communicate architectural decisions, progress, risks, and trade-offs effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support the development of robust trading technology by applying knowledge of order execution, market infrastructure, risk management, and financial products.
• Promote an ownership-driven, agile, collaborative engineering culture focused on delivering high-quality outcomes from initial design through production release.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional full-stack software development experience, including at least 2 years in a lead, principal, or equivalent senior engineering role.
• Proven experience mentoring, developing, and inspiring engineering teams in fast-paced and evolving environments.
• Strong backend engineering expertise, with extensive experience designing and building scalable backend systems and architectures.
• Expert-level proficiency with React, Next.js, modern frontend development patterns, Node.js, and RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on experience architecting and managing scalable infrastructure using AWS or equivalent cloud platforms.
• Demonstrated use of AI-powered development tools to improve individual and team productivity, engineering quality, and delivery.
• Experience implementing AI/ML-powered features, preferably within fintech, trading, or other complex financial technology environments.
• Previous professional experience in Forex, CFDs, capital markets, financial trading, or closely related trading environments is required.
• Strong understanding of trading systems, market infrastructure, order execution flows, risk management, and financial products.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts and architectural trade-offs to both engineering teams and business stakeholders.
