QA Automation Engineer

The core responsibilities for the job include the following:

Test Development and Maintenance:

• Write, maintain, and extend Playwright-based E2E test suites in TypeScript.
• Apply patterns such as the Page Object Model and reusable fixtures to keep tests scalable and readable.
• Triage and fix flaky tests; maintain suite reliability above team-defined thresholds.
• Conduct peer reviews of test code and provide constructive feedback.

AI-Assisted Testing:

• Use AI tools (e. g., GitHub Copilot, LLM-based generators) to accelerate test case creation and coverage analysis.
• Experiment with self-healing and auto-generated locator strategies to reduce maintenance overhead.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to evaluate and adopt emerging AI testing platforms.

CI/CD and Pipeline Integration:

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent).
• Monitor test execution dashboards and escalate failures with clear root-cause analysis.
• Participate in on-call rotations for test suite health and pipeline reliability.

Collaboration and Quality Culture:

• Partner with developers and product managers to understand features and define acceptance criteria.
• Contribute to test planning and estimation for new features and releases.
• Document test strategies, known issues, and coverage gaps clearly and concisely.
• Actively participate in retrospectives and suggest process improvements.

Requirements:

• 5-8 years of hands-on experience in software test automation.
• 3-5+ years of experience with Playwright, including writing and maintaining production test suites.
• Solid TypeScript skills, comfortable with types, interfaces, async/await, and modular code structure.
• Experience integrating tests into at least one CI/CD system (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, etc. ).
• Familiarity with REST API testing (Postman, Playwright API testing, or similar).
• Exposure to AI-assisted development or testing tools in a professional setting.
• Good debugging skills, able to isolate and communicate test failures clearly.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with visual regression testing tools (Applitools, Percy, or similar).
• Familiarity with performance or load testing concepts (K6 Lighthouse).
• Exposure to accessibility testing (WCAG 2.1 / ARIA).
• Understanding of contract testing (Pact or similar).
• Experience in a regulated industry (healthcare, fintech) is a plus.
• Contributions to open-source testing projects or a portfolio of automation work.
