Established in 1998, Joblogic is the UK’s #1 Field Service Management (FSM) software platform. We are a global business with offices in the UK, Pakistan, and Vietnam. Since our management buy-out in 2013, we have grown from ~£500K ARR to ~£35M+ ARR and expanded our team from 11 to 500+ people.

Recently, we secured a strategic growth investment from Vista Equity Partners - a global technology investor specialising in enterprise software. This investment includes over £100 million in new primary capital and will fuel our next phase of growth by accelerating our AI-first roadmap, expanding our platform into CAFM (Computer-Aided Facilities Management) capabilities, and supporting our expansion across Europe and beyond.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As an Engineering Leader, you'll be at the forefront of bridging leadership with execution. You will lead a talented pod of software engineers, ensuring the seamless delivery of product features while fostering a culture of collaboration, engineering excellence, and effective AI-assisted development practices. 

You'll collaborate closely with stakeholders, steering your team through the development journey and overseeing releases. Your role involves working closely with stakeholders, helping transform innovative ideas into customer-ready features while nurturing and guiding your team's growth.  

You'll take charge of executing the roadmap at the pod level, ensuring your team delivers according to plan - with your team leveraging AI coding assistants and agentic workflows as a core part of how work gets done. 

WHAT YOUR MAIN FOCUS WILL BE:

1. People & Delivery Leadership

• Lead, guide and inspire a pod of skilled engineers, fostering collaboration and a customer-centric mindset.
• Set clear goals, expectations, and delivery standards for the pod.
• Monitor pod progress, provide timely updates, and proactively escalate risks to keep projects on track.
• Coach team members on both engineering craft and effective use of AI-assisted development tools.

2. Execution & AI-Driven Delivery

• Execute the engineering roadmap at the pod level by translating release plans into actionable tasks while overseeing the timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
•  Champion the adoption of AI coding assistants and agentic development workflows within the pod to improve delivery speed and code quality.
•  Facilitate the connection between development, QA, and product feedback to ensure continuous improvement and alignment.

3. Technical Contribution & Quality

• Engage in coding best practices through peer reviews and adherence to engineering standards, including standards for responsible and effective AI-assisted coding.
• Contribute hands-on where needed to unblock the team on complex problems.
• Help ensure output from AI coding assistants meets the team's quality, security, and architectural standards before it ships.

4. Stakeholder Collaboration

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand customer personas and pain points, translating insights into actionable software features while ensuring engineering delivery aligns with business objectives and market demands across the organization. 
• Ensure clear communication and strong ownership across teams.

5. Continuous Learning & Team Growth

• Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, encouraging team members to enhance their skills and adopt best practices.
• Stay current on emerging AI tools and agentic development practices, and bring relevant ones into the team's workflow.

WHAT YOU BRING:

Educational Background: Bachelor of Information Technology, or relevant field.

Technical Expertise (Core Requirement)

• 7+ years of software development experience (preferably in B2B SaaS or field service platforms)
• At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role, guiding teams to deliver impactful solutions
• Strong product mindset focused on customer value and business outcomes, with experience in UAT, go-to-market strategies, and client onboarding
• Ability to balance hands-on coding with leadership, fostering collaboration within cross-functional teams

AI & Agentic AI Expertise (Must-have) 

• Hands-on, day-to-day experience using AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or equivalent) across the development lifecycle - from planning and coding to testing and review.
• Practical experience with Agentic AI: directing autonomous or semi-autonomous coding agents, structuring tasks for them, and validating/reviewing their output for correctness, security, and maintainability.
• Solid understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and prompt engineering, and how to apply them within AI-Driven Software Development Lifecycles (AIDLC).
• Ability to set and enforce team-level standards for AI-assisted coding - code review of AI-generated code, security review, and avoiding over-reliance on ungrounded AI output.
• Comfortable coaching engineers at different skill levels on how to work effectively and responsibly with AI coding tools.

Leadership & Mindset

• Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
• Ability to influence engineers without micromanaging
• Passion for building high-quality, AI-augmented engineering teams
• Comfortable balancing technical depth with day-to-day delivery pressure

Communication & Stakeholder Management

• Proficient in English (verbal and written)
• Experience working with global teams (UK is a plus)
• Ability to translate business needs into technical direction

• Experience collaborating with UK-based customers.
• Understanding of field service management processes and agile delivery cycles
• Knowledge of containerization technologies.
• Proficient coding skills in relevant technologies (e.g., C#, .NET, Angular, SQL, or a similar stack used at Joblogic).
• A passion for leveraging technology to tackle real-world problems and enhance operational trust across various industries.

Our Hiring Manager will review your experience. Qualified candidates will be shortlisted and moved directly to the final interview stage.

Step 3 | Onsite Panel Interview (~2 hours, conducted in English)

Shortlisted candidates will be invited onsite for a panel interview and interactive Q&A session with our VN Engineering Management Team. This session allows us to explore your thought process, technical leadership, delivery approach, AI-driven practices, communication skills, problem-solving approach, and overall fit for the role.
