Senior Tax Accountant

Our client, a well-established CSP based in Malta, is looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated tax professional to handle a diverse international clientele across a wide range of industries, as well as private clients, and to broaden their experience in a challenging and rewarding environment.

This is a hybrid role offering a salary of up to €50K.

Role & Responsibilities

• Assist in tax compliance and submission, including the preparation and review of corporate income tax computations, income tax returns and tax refund applications, and dividend documentation in terms of tax law

• Handle technical tax matters, including complex tax computations and returns under the Notional Interest Deduction and Consolidated Income Tax Rules

• Supervise and mentor junior team members

• Prepare and submit personal income tax returns

• Prepare FATCA, CRS, and other DAC-related forms

• Assist with advising clients on Maltese tax implications and international tax developments, providing commercially sound and practical guidance

• Liaise with local authorities regarding compliance and tax matters

• Participate in client meetings and maintain strong client relationships

Education, Skills & Experience

• Fully qualified accountant

• 2+ years' work experience in a similar sector in Malta

• MIT professional tax certificate is a plus; without it, relevant work experience should compensate, and candidates should be open to pursuing the certification if needed

• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook

• Fluency in English, both written and spoken

• Fluency in Maltese is a plus

• Ability to work independently and within a team

• Excellent attention to detail

• Strong communication and organisational skills

• Self-motivated and willing to learn, with the ability to work with tight deadlines

• Knowledge and practice of Maltese VAT legislation is a plus
