What will you do
The Johnson Controls’ Accelerated Commercial Excellence (ACE) Program is an early career 18-month sales development programdesigned to transform recent graduates intoskilled channelor product sales individuals.Over the course of the program, participants receive instructor-led intensivetraining, hands-on customer experienceand mentorship to build technical expertiseand sales acumen, preparing them for impactful sales roles within our organization.This program is designed to prepare candidatesfor product channel salesacross seven different Johnson Controls’business unitswith a single cohort, summer hiring cadence.
Inthisparticularrole, you will be supportingJohnsonControls’ Controls business unit. We make everything from highly programmable building automation systems (BAS) that drive reduced HVAC energy and effective operational outcomes to highly programmable automation systems for entire facilities and campuses. Building occupants are comfortable and safe through simple, configurable controls for specific kinds of equipment.Through our PENN portfolio, we also provide leading commercial refrigeration solutions for temperature, pressure, humidityand air flow controls.
Duringthe firstsixmonthsof the program, the entire ACE cohortwill be based out ofMilwaukee WI working at Johnson Controls’ HQ office in the northwest suburb of GlendaleWI. At the end of monthsix ,you will be requiredto relocate to a predetermined assigned locationwhere upon program graduation you will transition to an outside or field salesrolecoveringspecific accounts inyour territory.For Summer 2027,we have three(1)availableterritory locationswith theirrespectiveControls channel sales group:
Northwest (Seattle WA) - Building Automation Systems (BAS)channel
How will youdo it
Complete all required ACE foundational sales training
Attend frequenttraining sessions to build deep Controls product knowledge,industry/market awarenessand sales process expertise
Provide technicaland commercial aidtoControlsoutsidesales personnel (called Channel Account Managers) and accounts
Complete inside sales rotation for lead/case management, CRM pipeline management and account updatinghygiene
Establish monthly cadence with Channel AccountManagers (CAMs) and ChannelSales Managers for development progress andbusiness reviewsparticipation
Create, analyzeand customize sales reports and dashboards using PowerBI
Promote ourSolution Navigator self-ordering customer portal and report feedback
Strengtheninternalcross-departmentcollaboration withapplication engineers, product managers, tech engineers, marketingcoordinators,etc.
Develop strong customer relationships with managed and maintainedaccounts to generate new business, support strategic productor accountgrowthinitiatives and report feedback
Provide problem-solving assistanceto customerssuch asorder management, quality concerns, pricing discrepancies, product selectionsupport, etc.
Prepare, practiceand lead multiple customer-facing product presentations (Subject Matter Expert or Lunch and Learns)
Travel to manufacturingplants, R&Dfacilities and customer locations for live training and sales shadowing
What we look for
Required:
Bachelor’s degree minimum (MechanicalEngineering, IndustrialEngineering,Electrical Engineering orBusiness Degree highly preferred)
Recent graduate or undergraduate senior expecting to graduate between Apr2027- Jun2027. Program starts in Jun2027
Proficiencywith Microsoft 365programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
Must have the ability to be in Milwaukee, WI (Glendale WI) for the first six monthsof the program, then relocateto one of thepredetermined permanent bases(Seattle, WA).
U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
Preferred:
Technical sales internship experience. Especially in the HVAC/Controls industry.
Excellent communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Available to travel up to 25% - dependent upon your assignments
Experience with any CRM and PowerBItools
