Johnson Controls is a building technology company that makes and services heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, building automation and controls, fire detection and suppression systems, and security and access control products. It sells under brands such as York, Metasys and Tyco to commercial buildings, hospitals, data centers, schools and government facilities in more than 150 countries, and runs its North American operations from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The company is headquartered in Cork, Ireland.

Johnson Controls is looking for a Master Scheduler II to support planning and scheduling across Global Regions and Applied Equipment Manufacturing Plants. In this visible role, you will help maintain accurate lead times, dependable schedule commitments, and timely communication across the teams that support customer delivery.

You will partner with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to keep planning data current, respond to changes quickly, and help improve the flow of orders through the manufacturing process.

Role Overview

This role is the scheduling and prioritization link between Customer Service, Manufacturing, Product Management, Engineering, and third-party suppliers. You will help manage plant schedules, support supply-demand planning, and coordinate changes that affect order dates, manufacturing holds, and revision impacts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate scheduling priorities across Applied Equipment departments, manufacturing plants, and external partners to support order schedules and production capability.
  • Communicate and document accurate chiller lead times while supporting effective plant scheduling.
  • Support supply-demand activities, including the Sales and Operations Planning process.
  • Track order processing lead times between Customer Service and Manufacturing Plants and identify opportunities to improve performance.
  • Help reduce time lost on orders placed on manufacturing hold.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with Sales, Service, Customers, Suppliers, Product Management, and Engineering to keep information flowing clearly and on time.
  • Respond to engineering changes that affect product ordering and order status.
  • Escalate and communicate delays or accelerations in scheduled dates proactively.
  • Complete additional assignments as needed.

How You Will Do It

  • Own schedule commitments with accuracy, accountability, and integrity, keeping customer impact and business priorities in view.
  • Stay close to the work by partnering directly with plants, Customer Service, Engineering, Product Management, and suppliers to remove blockers quickly.
  • Bring issues forward early, use clear candor, and solve problems before small changes become larger schedule disruptions.
  • Work as one team across functions and regions, building trust and respecting different perspectives when priorities need to be aligned.
  • Look for ways to improve every day by learning from exceptions, documenting patterns, and strengthening scheduling processes over time.
  • Use professional communication with senior leaders and cross-functional partners, adapting your approach to the audience and situation.

Qualifications

  • University degree and at least 5 years of experience in manufacturing scheduling or project management.
  • Candidates without a degree may be considered with at least 10 years of manufacturing scheduling or project management experience.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including experience working with senior stakeholders across geographies and functional disciplines.
  • Comfort managing VP- and Director-level relationships and adjusting communication style as needed.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PC applications.
  • Ability to learn new technologies as needed.
  • Minimal travel required.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Oracle or similar business-based systems.
  • Exposure to S&OP, ERP/MRP-based planning, or master scheduling processes.
