What this job involves:
As Lead MAC Technician, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing Moves, Adds, and Changes (MAC) operations for office furniture, workstations, and related assets while leading a team of MAC Technicians to deliver high-quality, efficient service. This position combines hands-on execution of physical relocations, installations, and repairs with leadership responsibilities including team development, safety enforcement, and project coordination. You'll work closely with the facilities management team to plan and coordinate moves, conduct site assessments, and ensure all work meets client requirements while maintaining a safe working environment. What your day-to-day will look like:
- Lead a team of MAC Technicians in executing work orders for office moves, workstation reconfigurations, furniture installs, repairs, and related tasks
- Plan and coordinate moves with the facilities management team, perform site assessments, and communicate status updates, risks, and project progress to project managers, stakeholders, and clients
- Assemble, disassemble, and reconfigure office furniture systems while installing items such as shelving, whiteboards, monitor mounts, and other fixtures
- Conduct furniture and equipment modifications to meet client requirements and inspect completed work for quality assurance
- Load and unload trucks, manage staging areas for furniture and equipment, and maintain inventory throughout the move process
- Enforce and model safety protocols on-site, ensuring all team members follow safety standards and maintaining a clean, safe work environment before, during, and after move activities
- Train, mentor, and develop MAC Technicians by providing performance feedback, teaching best practices, and building technical skills across the team
- - Document work orders, moves, and inventory accurately while maintaining detailed records of installations, changes, and assets
Required qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in furniture moves, installations, or related MAC operations
- Proficiency in the use of computers and smartphones
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact effectively with customers in a corporate setting
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments with minimal supervision
- Knowledge and experience with hand and power tools, dollies, and other moving equipment
- Physical ability to lift and push 75 lbs and walk up to 8 hours per day
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in a corporate office environment
- Experience with office furniture systems including major manufacturers
