Job Summary:

As a Application Support Engineer within the Securities Services team, you will support the development of innovative pricing, risk, and trade management tools across all asset classes and financial instruments. You will work on complex problems at the intersection of finance and technology, partnering closely with clients to shape the product roadmap and influence the commercialization strategy. Job Responsibilities:

• Providing business facing technology support to business and operations groups across the Asia Pacific region.
• Working within a follow-the-sun support model with global counterparts
• Managing production technology incidents to resolution, ensuring timely engagement, escalation and effective communication to business, technology and vendor partners
• Performing post incident analysis, identifying, tracking and implementing preventative measures
• Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for key applications, responsible for maintaining global best practice and hygiene standards
• Act as a key contributor in the continued development of tools, frameworks & techniques to improve productivity and quality of the production support, adopting SRE principles to manage and support the environment
• Develop and support automation tooling to improve the reliability of the platform and to increase the productivity of the team

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent practical experience
• 4 years of experience supporting technology in the financial services or banking sector
• Experience supporting trade lifecycle processes through settlement, including position management, valuation, and asset servicing
• Experience building and using monitoring dashboards and producing service key performance indicators and stability reporting
• Experience monitoring logs and message buses using observability tools (for example, Splunk, Elastic stack, ITRS Geneos, AppDynamics, or Dynatrace)
• Demonstrated incident and problem management experience for business-impacting outages, including facilitation of calls and post-incident reviews
• Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively across business, technology, and vendor partners

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

• Experience supporting Linux-based applications and relational databases
• Proficiency in scripting (for example, Python, UNIX shell, or Perl) to automate operational tasks
• Experience with databases and data platforms (for example, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, or Snowflake)
• Experience with observability and performance monitoring tools (for example, Splunk, Grafana, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, or ITRS Geneos)
• Experience with workload schedulers (for example, Control-M or AutoSys)
• Cloud experience with core services (for example, Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon EKS, Amazon RDS, Amazon CloudWatch) and monitoring tools (for example, Datadog)
• Prior experience in Java development and strong productivity skills in Microsoft Excel (including macros) and PowerPoint
